So ended the weekend with getting the 02 up in the air. Took all the wheels off. About time to drop the front subframe, automatic pedal box, and start getting busy with the "real" hurdles of this swap.

Anyone got experience disconnecting the steering box from the linkage/flex disc? Going to ask around at the shop today. Seems simple enough, but I love asking stupid questions.

So i've been busy with work, life, getting ready to move into our own place in July, and projects. I've still found odd and end hours here and there to get out and work on Olivia.

Got the car in the corner and dropped the subframe.



Rolled it out from under the car and got to cleaning it up. Will repaint it and get everything nice and CLASSY once we move in July. Fresh paint in the engine bay, and maybe on the intake mani and valve cover and wire tuck going down after the move.

So my plan at this point is to "mock up" the drive train and see what i'm working with space wise. Going in from the bottom is the best way in my opinion. I had a couple engine dolly's lying around that had these vertical "plates". I've been meaning to cut them off, so off they went.





After that point, I got pretty excited, also pretty drunk. Drank way too much tequila and decided this was a good stopping point before dying a lonesome death in the garage by myself.

Took one of the PRO3 Cars to the body shop to get a brand new hood, and used fender prepped, painted, and installed. Looked incredible when we got it back, we just laid fresh vinyl decals on the hood after work today!





SPEC46 build going down.. While we installed decals on the PRO3 car, my coworker Kyle was downloading Dinan software to the E46.









Longtime customer's E34 Dinan Supercharged 540i w/ 6spd manual transmission. Dinan suspension and BBS wheels. Simple, clean, and mean.

Long story short, the dolly set the subframe too low to get the hoist close enough to the engine to get shit done... so a new plan had to be formulated.

I had these HOOSIER tires laying around for way too long. Usually use them to set shit on or hop in and out of because drunk. Set the subframe on one of the tires and got shit done.











At this point... you know.. I was feeling somewhat like this.

So this is where I was at on a lonely Wednesday night.

I had torn the interior out a week or two ago, just had neglected to show pictures. Things look good in here, not too bad. Nothing I can't handle! Got the foam pads up and really everything looks good under there. Some surface rust but the interior is going to get hit with some paint (floorpans at the very least).





Decided to hold onto the carpet. Thinking about not even fucking with it. I love the "old" look of it.



Front Subframe/M20/G260 combo was ready to roll into the bay in preparation for mock up work, etc., etc. this weekend. My buddy Ryan aka WARDIE on the boards came by and helped me out! Thanks again buddy!

This weekend...

- Swapping Dinan 325ix springs out of a parts car for a buddy.
- Bolting the subframe on to the 2002, and figuring out what I have to work with space wise.
- Radiator clearance
- Transmission Clearance
- Fuel System - Brainstorm session...
- Hopefully have a solid plan of attack to get this finished before the move in July and get 'er done. Need to lay at least some primer or paint in the bay as there is some bare metal after shaving a few brackets here and there.
- Start getting all my wiring and electronics together for the great "merge" of 2002 wiring into E30 wiring. I really enjoy taking my time with wiring so i'm excited about this.

Brought home everything I need to get the Gas Tank mounted (hit it with some fresh paint and evaluated the inside!).

Plan is to install the tank, run new metal lines and rubber hoses to the appropriate components, and button up the wiring which is pretty much done.

Might start it for the first (first time in the 02 anyway) this weekend. Pics to come, uploading now.

Good work with the 2002 I regret chopping my carpet out but a lot of my car was rot and it smelled like death but it would have made a good template. Yours looks solid from the photos! Nice IX too

If I can just spend 45min-1hr a night on this thing i'll be happy. Finding the time is tough with all the shit we've been doing to the house. We're getting close to being done though.
