Hey Will, glad I could help with the engine mount arms. Let me know if you want some of the later (lighter) M52/S52 exhaust manifolds too. I can weld up the air ports in them to get em ready for you too, if you are interested.

For the wheel bearing, it is a left side bearing for sure. If you want to verify whether it's front or rear, you can grab the wheel at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions and shake the wheel, sort of like a toggle switch. The worn bearing will have a bit (or a bunch) of play in it.

PS, this thread needs more pics of your car!

This is true for the rear bearings since the hub is pressed into the inner race. However I have noticed the fronts do not always show play, It may be because they are a complete hub/bearing assembly.
But one thing is always for sure; if it changes when the steering wheel turns, then its the front.

                  It is the left bearing

When I was getting wheel bearing noise under heavy right turns (loading the left bearing) i replaced the drivers front bearing and the noise went away :???:

Beautiful engine, if I can make a suggestion, if your making a project thread, you should include alot more pictures in your posts. That way it will attract more people and you can probably get your questions answered faster by someone knowledgeable. Also read up in the 24v swap section. There is a bunch of smart fellows in there. BTW that is a nice looking 318i. Looks similar too mine except silver.
