    update ~ 7/15

Here's a long deserved update to my build thread.
I HAD planned many things for this car, that should have already happened by now.

But due to certain circumstances, they've been on hold.
Here's my tentative to-do list for the summer:
    • Fix electrical problem causing fuse #23 to blow (which controls dash & insturment lights, license plate lights, right parking light, right corner light)
    • Fix electrical problem causing right low beam to not work
    • Fix electrical problem causing right fog light to not work
    • Install my M3 CABS with Dmitriy sometime soon (kronus)
    • Sand-down & respray my iS lip which is pretty scuffed up
    • FINALLY get some 16" or 17" 5-lugs with tires
    • Acquire a 4th 14" Basketweave with Tire to sell on the set (sister crashed car)
    • Fix belts
    • Fix LOUD screeching steering-rack
    • Install Frenched Euro Smileys
    • Creatively paint the front center strip under the grills, which is faded
    • Fix wiring problem causing winsheild washers to not work
    • Install new front speakers

Got a LOT of stuff to do, and not much time with all of the other stuff I'm doing this summer...

But the goal is to get it all taken care of.

Some pics from this weekend (most recent)

yeah, you totally feel the power surge back when you hit the button off.
    it's pretty lame, but then again - happy i don't have a slick-top!

So this weekend I need to tackle a little job.

Driving from Downtown LA to San Diego last Sunday, my car developed a little electrical problem. There's a short somewhere on the circuit for fuse #23. This controls the Right Taillight, Right Front corner, Instrument & Dash Illumination, License plate lights and Right Side markers (which I don't have since I have Euro-trim).

Tried replacing the fuse and I popped all of the 3 spares that I had. Tried putting a higher amp one in there and it blew instantly. Any thoughts on where I could find my short? Danny suggested within the R Tail cut out itself, but all of the wires/bulbs looked to be straight. My trunk was full of groceries and luggage/shit so it could have shifted around possibly and clipped/broken something, somewhere...

I did replace my right low beam sealed-beam Sunday morning while I was back at home, although it's on a different circuit, and I don't think it had anything to do with it.

In other news, drove the car back down to San Diego from San Francisco this past Sunday. The drive itself to Los Angeles was very smooth, and I made it in about 4 hours 30 mins. Car pulled really hard when I needed it too, A/C blew cold, and despite the 4.10 open diffs ratio, it was pretty comfortable cruising down the 5.

    Cheers,
    Sina

Expect some BIG changes very soon. The big pieces are starting to come in.
With all luck, I'm hoping to have one of the cleanest late model E30's in Northern California come summer. :D

Some more recent pics of my ish. I was able to track down a fourth BBS center-cap from a bargain from an Oregon member.

To be honest, aside from the little things that I need atm, aka:
    • Headlights (depo smilieys/french h3's)
    • Front bumper respray or replacement
    • Paint on LF Fender
    • Paint/buffing on roof
    • buffing on trunklid that's been keyed
    • small ding-repairs/paint corrections on little spots around the car
    • Real Euro-trim (my DIY's are starting to look like shit upclose) lol
    • Twin exhaust tip

...I think that the car's close to being presentable.

But you all know how it goes ... no E30 can ever be complete :D

Of course, Depos out of the box suck. I think most people use them to retrofit brighter projectors into... at least that is pretty much all they're good for

Those are way better than depos, imho. But I'm the minority on that it seems.
