Summer is practically over, and it's two weeks till the E30 will go into hibernation for a year..or longer.
Going to take the roof rack off this weekend, and detail it for a last time. Then some moe pics.

So...I came home from college for winter break last Friday. This past week, I put in an effort to get the car back in shape, as it was steadily falling apart before I retired it to the garage. Now that I just had it re-insured, I'll be driving it for the next few weeks, whenever I come home on the weekends, and when I bring it down to San Diego with me in March/April till June. So the smog didn't go well..Failed terribly in NOx and HC's. Took it over to a local Bimmer guy's garage and he was laughing at how ALL of my hoses are cracked and or splitting apart. Beside that, I knew that my car was running extremely lean. The temp gauge had recently been close to the red zone quite frequently. Reason? Broken fan clutch. Another random problem was that my MAF intake boot (in the shitty, brittle state that it is) had cracked apart when I installed an aftermarket cone intake So...here's a short list of what I'll be doing over the next couple of weeks before I leave.

One more thing is that my car is pissing oil like a mofo. It's been in my aunt's garage for the past 3 months, and collected quite a bit on her garage floor

Was meaning to ask, do you need any parts for the m42? I have a whole spare engine.

Love the color! If you're looking to save a few bucks, I bought 4 new hoses for my now dead M42. They are new in packaging. Check my thread if interested, and I can supply you with part numbers!

Haha, that's actually Tilden Park right by Berkeley. My E30 hasn't seen Soal yet, but it will after I bring it down after practice on a Saturday morning sometime during Winter or Spring quarter.

This quarter turned out much better than I thought it would, be I'm determined to get a 4.0 next quarter. It's that one ERC req (MMW) that screwed me for the lolz. Econ was alright, but I'm trying to get better than B in Macroecon in the spring.

Excited, tomorrow will be the 'mess under intake' mod and the new fan clutch.
Picked up a hirschmann that looked flawless from the yard today, now trying to get it to work :(

Drove the piss out my car yesterday and I'm gonna put another hundred miles or so on it today. Tank of gas with two bottles of fuel injection cleaner.

The car's fan works wonderfully, and the Mototronic is readjusting to the new hose setup etc..

Feels great at wide-open throttle, and the engine growl is back

Only thing is - everyone who sees/drives my car agrees, the bottom end is loose, and sadly since this M42 has never had a proper valve job, and its nearing 240k, its on its way out :(

So the roadtrip next summer may leave me stranded/be the last trip of the m42

                              M42s don't need "valve jobs" ;)

Don't get the ccw reps..... I want them

If you get the ccw reps, don't get them in "chrome" though. The finish looks bad and it'll start to peel in a few months. Car looks GREAT though.

                                Go here be happy!
