Purchased a brand new (rebuilt) E30 M3 steering rack.

Not Z3, yes I know - but almost every other single component on my front end is from an M3.

(sans 5-lug/brakes, of course).

Update (4/3/2015):

Car did well in its 500+ mile drive back to Southern California.

As I was leaving the limits of the San Francisco Bay Area, some donk's tire blew out, hit me, and launched my iS lip over the car while obliterating it.

Also, the rear right shock's top end bolt needs to be tightened. I'll have to do that this afternoon when it cools down.

Traded my Style 10's for a set of what I've always wanted, 15" BBS RZ Euroweaves.
They were recently refinished, but I have taken apart the center caps in order to paint the center bezels silver.
I guess the P.O. liked the bezels dark grey, but I am not a fan - so that's a project for the weekend.

Already installed the new clips needed for the new iS lip, now I just need to get a new lip.

I will be sending my Euroweaves into a very reputable San Diegan Wheel Shop this Wednesday.
All four wheels aren't trued, and the shop has offered me a healthy discount for their quality work.
Can't wait till those are done.

After the wheels are repaired and I have refinished my center-caps, I will be after a set of new 205/50/R15 sport tires.

...And a thorough wash, and steam-clean of the car's engine bay, and under-body.

A few other minor things will need to be sorted before the car goes into a 2-year hibernation at the end of June.. Aiming to have it a few local drives/meets before then.

Will be updating this thread periodically until it goes into its 2-year slumber. Stay tuned!

Also, installed a new tweeter in the driver's door, thus making my audio system complete.

With a fully-working Original Premium Sound Pkg & 2x 10" JL Subs in the trunk, it sounds great.

It will be sitting in a closed garage. The tires are junk so I don't really care to save em.

Update (7/11/2016):

So I lied and this car did not end up sitting for two years. I got restless and had it shipped to Chicago, Illinois where I was living, 3 months ago in April.

Upon its arrival, installed the 15" Euroweaves, and wrapped in new 205/50 S-Drives.
Then, gave it a good little tune-up and exactly three weeks ago, I set out on a 5,700 mile road-trip to the following places:

Then two days ago on Saturday, I drove it down from the Bay Area to LA (where I just moved).

Car has run flawlessly. Had the AC recharged while in Houston so that's new as well.

• New hood (current one is dented from roadtrip)
• New front bumper (current is cracked)
• New front valence (current is sagging)
• Dent repair (around car)
• Full coil-over conversion
• E-Fan conversion
• Flatten out front floor pans (currently warped from jack-stand negligence in high school)
• front sway bar
• rear sway bar
• new sway bar bushings
• front strut brace
• rear shock tower brace
• rear headrest conversion
• new electric antenna (replacement)
• steering coupler replacement

much more to come, and I am simulatenously starting compile parts for my 24 valve swap. Found a nice diff that I plan on picking up first.

Will update as I go but am focusing on a lot of non-swap related things first to get the car dialed in for daily duty (currently doing a 3 hour round trip commute everyday in Los Angeles).

Also, if you see another black four door with a roof rack in LA please wave!

quick m42 question for the m42 prince...

have you ever tried anything other than 4.10?

I am hoping to pick up a 3.73 LSD this weekend with hopes of making freeway driving a little bit more comfortable (doing 70 miles per day)..

thoughts?
