It's been a while since I updated and there's good (bad) reason for that. The past 2 weeks have been an utter shit storm.

My iPhone was stolen (see sig).
My bicycle got a flat tire on the way to work. So not hip. Or maybe it is hip? I don't know. It's impossible to keep up with those kids and their trends.

Sidenote: I saw some hipster god on a fixie rocking a fox face carcass pinned to a tux vest he was wearing over what appeared to be home made clothes recently. Took a picture of it. It can be seen on www.latfh.com

Anywho, Joe and I were planning on going to Eurowerks a week or 2 ago. I woke up and found that my Volvo had also gotten a flat tire. No phone to call Joe to tell him, (I also don't have internet or cable yet because I'm lazy) so we both sat in our apts for a good 4 hours waiting for each other.

Long story long, we ended up spending the next 10 hours in the garage. Joe pulled out all of the interior and EVERY WIRING HARNESS, while I went to town on the engine bay with wire brushes and an air drill. We made a ton of progress.

With spirits high, we pulled all the harnesses out the firewall and removed the fusebox....to find this:

I was on the edge of burning the garage to the ground and buying a motorcycle. Not happy.

I'm currently sourcing quotes for repair and keeping an eye out for clean shells. We'll see what happens. My August deadline is looking like a pipe dream lately.

Oh, and still no sign of the new head. The guy keeps giving me the fucking run around. I'm going to be in the paper soon if this shit keeps up.

On the up side, the Cardinal ships out tomorrow and should be in my hands by Tuesday. Maybe I'll make a video game cockpit out of it instead...

Just realized I missed this question. Citywide Engines on Milwaukee. They did it for less then half the prices I was quoted from other places around the area. I'd highly recommend them. They do good work for cheap and are very personable.

Screw getting estimates or a new shell. Find someone who can weld/has a welder and make it happen. Just cut out the rust spot with and angle grinder or something, then cut a piece of metal to fit, weld and voila. That's a very small amount of rust. I can't tell if that is the frame underneath, but either way it is fixable.

She'll be getting welded. Finding, getting, and tearing down a new shell and having to get rid of the old one will just be too much work.

This car isn't going in a museum, and I'll probably crash it before anything has time to rust out anyways.

I rather spend time driving the car then making it flawless.

Things are at a bit of a stand still right now considering I need to get the tower welded up and waiting on that cylinder head that may never come / dealing with Scam Scammerson.

Also forgot to order new rod bolts, so waiting on those as well.

                        oh...and I'm lazy.

Head finally came in yesterday. Looks clean overall. I'll know for sure when I dive into it a bit more.

Cardinal is in today, need to go pick it up.

HOPEFULLY the car will be at H20i, although if it is I'm sure it won't be painted by then. Probably rocking multi colored panels. You going again?
