Although I didn't have any leaves or webs, it was pretty dirty and greasy. I would recommend vacuuming any loose leaves, dirt, webs, etc. At first I tried engine degreaser by Engine Brite,; didn't work too well. Tried Purple Power, better, but didn't remove the cosmoline. Hit it up with Simple Green Max...wow! That with a toothbrush, grout brush and microfiber sponge, it came out really nice! Umm the only thing I covered up was the distributor cap. Good luck!Comment

Got some parts in the mail:
ZHP knob, Z4 2.5 shift lever, bushings and clips...
A lot better!
Also picked these up yesterday from a fellow r3v'r. Thanks, they cleaned up really good. Have tires already, just need to get them mounted up.
One question: This was in my car before: illuminated UUC shift knob. Is it a real one? I tried to search to see if UUC did really make one like this. Can't seem to find a match.

Nice stuff. As nice as you are building this car, I need to ask, why use vinyl boots that dont fit right? Real leather sets are $40.
Drop Rob from UUC a line, Im sure he can tell you if genuine or fake.sigpic

You still have the Gti? Figured that would be gone by now, ever think of brining it to carmax to see what they would give you for it.
Car is looking good, skip the hats and drive it this way for now.Comment
