Just read most of this build from the start. Great work!
Ever thought about putting the diving boards back on and rusting those to match?Leave a comment:

Here's a video of the 3" in action
Lately I've just been cleaning things up and fixing a few minor things. For example I de-rusted the turbo coolant lines

And the rust has really started to colorize nicely

This is a good idea, I think I'll follow suite before I finish the back side of my cage.see if I can close up those trim holes on the c-pillarLeave a comment:

A year ago today I was collecting turbo parts and my car wasn't even that rusty. I wonder where I'll be next year

In the meantime I'll be trying to fire up the welder this weekend and see if I can close up those trim holes on the c-pillarLeave a comment:

I'll be looking forward to watching that!
Haha, yes. I have painted it before though:p But putting all this work into the car really does make me appreciate every second of owning/driving it. A friend was asking me the other day if I would ever sell it or scrap it and I told him i probably couldn't. I'm sure you feel similar;) I went to fixxfest but didn't get a chance to drive my car there. And I'm 90% sure I would've won the car limbo:hitler:Much like me, you saved a car tantamount to scrap. I would say to paint that bish, but I respect your choices. I like that you've had to do all the shit I've had to do and then some to get it going and keep it on the road. I love my car so much since I've done what I have so far. Now that I'm almost done, I wanted inspiration. This pushes me forward where I was getting a little burnt out after missing my deadline for fixxfest.
In other news....I landed the job at S&S:pimp:Leave a comment:

Thanks, although I'm not sure it's as crazy as that! That's some feat to pull off.
The 3" is back on:D Tucked up closer to the body than ever.
Also found a picture on IG.

Wish I saved the regular version of this picture but sadly can't find it
Had the car up off the ground to start chopping the downpipe up. It needed to come closer to the underside of the car as well as be tweaked a little bit to fit the new turbo.

Replaced the blue LED in the boost gauge with an incandescent. Am looking for an amber replacement though as the color is a little off.

Then dug this out from underneath some filing cabinets that were outside. I have had this thing for who knows how long... probably at least 4 years.

Better views of how I cut the downpipe to fit.

Here is the line I marked to weld. The small section below the sharpie line fits into the other pipe. The people that had originally welded this up for me had used a 2.5" piece they flared a little to fit another 2.5" piece of pipe into. I basically cut the weld out on either side with a cutting wheel and but did not fully cut through the downpipe inside the flare. Then all I had to do was knock the little section of downpipe in the flared pipe out and I was ready to mock up with the sharpie.

High up away from the ground

In the end it was all done to replace this, my entire exhaust system for the past few months

A little long in the back, but it sits even with the edge of the plastic bumper. It shouldn't burn any paint like that:p

Found some trim pieces at home.

Wow...just went through all of your build. I love it!
Give you mad props for the work you've done and place you had to do it in, reminds me of doing my e2i conversion in a garage with less than 1 ft of room around the car. haha.
Keep up the good work!Leave a comment:

If you're trying to get a job at Steak n Shake, definitely go for a service job. I am a server at one in Orlando and make bank compared to the production side of things. and I get to talk to all the cute girls that come in ;)Leave a comment:
