I'd say how ever you can swing it, 4dr m5x. But I tell ya, a cabrio is a nice thing to have. If it's your dream car and it's there for the taking then it's a no brainer...go for it.

That's the plan. I can afford to keep the cabrio, but I can't really do anything with it for the time being. I'm thinking of at Christmas pull the M42 out of the M-tech, drop that into the cabby. Then put the M50 into the M-tech.

I thought of something today, I need to plug in the harness and roll my windows up. I don't wanna do like I did the cabby.....

Wish I could. I've had 4 days off this entire summer. :(

Well I got the tranny apart from the guibo. An air wrench and one of these is GOLD! They made everything easier. Also I would like to thank BMW for making almost every bolt and nut on the drivetrain the same size, not fun having to switch sockets underneath a car. ;)

A Dremel with a cutoff wheel and about 10 mins will take care of any little bitch sheared bolt that had deciced out of it's 2 other siblings, it was going to be the hell raiser. >_>

          Transmission mounts? What transmission mounts?

Then I moved onto getting the rest of the stuff still connected undone.

And figured out where I had my coolant leak. What the hell is this thing? It was connected to the airbox and to the throttle body.

Engine mounts unbolted on top and underneath. Then jacked up the engine and got it loose.

Operation: "M50 get the fuck out!" begins tomorrow night. :3

And sale on the cabrio is pending, apparently my dad wants to buy it and drop a supercharged S50 into it. 0-0

            Dirteh gaywrage

            Also random rear shot:

And my dad forgot the stuff I needed for the engine lift, so the M50 is still sitting in the E34. >_>

Well we started pulling the engine tonight and quickly hit a brick wall. My hoist doesn't lift high enough to get the engine out. Basically about half way on the engine, it runs out of range. >_>

So I guess I'm going to have to figure out how to rip off the front end of the E34 so I can pull the engine on out.

Also the E34 front sway bar is way too low, I have to have the car jacked up 2 inches to clear the engine hoist......

                    The M50 is out finally!!!!!

I ended up having to unbolt the radiator support. Came right out in about 5 mins. Next is to unbolt the tranny tomorrow.

All the exposed lines I put on glad press and seal, followed by pieces of an old rag, and a zip tie.

Anyone retrofit the cruise or the brake booster?
