Do it... you'll thank yourself later. Though it's easier for me to say, I live in TX and can run straight water in my engine pretty much all year round. Getting our first freeze soon though, have to go pickup some anti freeze.

L, The top mounts are just the standard ones. The offset ones are noticeably different.

Hey Levent, exactly what silver paint did you use for all those silver bits? I'm going to be repainting a bunch of engine parts in silver. Are you doing the block, too?

I can find out the shade of silver. It's not paint it's powder coated. The block was cleaned and painted with black engine paint.

Nice. Don't worry about finding out the shade, I have a color I'm already quite partial to, the same one I had my ACT's done in. I have a powdercoating hook-up, so I'll probably do the same.

Bit of a rough start with the subframe, but once Levent beat it like it owed him money it came out real easy, oh and who else do you know would lie on their back on the dirty ass floor to take such an awesome pic of the undercarriage lol

nice work guys. That looks like a really clean shell from that undercarriage pic.
Azad, does Levent make you drink hazelnut vanilla cream when youre there working?

I recommend ditching them. The original m42 design didn't have the throttle heater plate. It was added for emissions purposes. When it's all said and done, you're really just deleting that throttle heater and associated lines. The vacuum lines are just re-routed... you don't delete any of them. The M42 is VERY sensitive to vacuum leaks. They're all small diameter lines with tons of junctions... potential points of failure.

There are some pictures in my rebuild thread of how I routed the hoses. I have no vacuum leaks and my idle is silky smooth.

came in for a couple hours to work on her today...

replacing the seals on the diff, while at it figure should wire brush it clean and paint it. Did the LSD stencil, I know its not the right font/color but came out nicel, but then realized I did it on the wrong side... redo tomorrow, I guess thats a sign Im tired and need to get home.

Hope to have rear end on tomorrow so we can then start on the front/engine.
