Another update, test fitting the cast log manifold with the turbo (need to choose exhaust housing still). Still considering keeping the car stock. New top came in today and is excellent quality, will be installing this week.

Just install the M52 with a 5 speed and enjoy it. Makes a night/day change in car's personality. Edit: Saw the Appearance Package blurb and assumed it was a tragic. It will never be a collectors item, sorry to say that but it's true.

It will fit with some notching of the front sub frame, maybe pounding the tranny tunnel a little for WG tubing. Got the idea from the guy that used a SPA manifold turbo S50.

Greg- As far as I know very few appearance convertibles were made something like 1000? And even less maybe 140 "Full" mtechnic package cars. Of those most of the VIN's are automatic with open differentials and very few optioned with a 5 speed and an LSD. I would like to think years from now it would be collectible. I wish there was a way to confirm the exact numbers produced.

BMW won't let the cat out of the hat till a book is produced and with their consent will numbers come out.

The restoration guide has some good numbers, and remember if you go M52 simple bolt in/out as nothing needs to be really changed.

I have come across much like other many a car with an optioned in LSD, salesman knew what he was selling when the car was pitched.

Cool car, there is one very much like it that came up from Florida and has been on sale on Craigslist Worcester/Boston for the last 7 months. Started at 11k and last I noticed it was 6k.

I drove to the gas station today with the top down it was so warm in CT. Had 4 people comment and ask about the car! It's my 5th e30 and seems to draw the most attention out of them all. I'll have to pick up a copy of te restoration guide they have it at borders.

Very nice. I plan on installing a turbo in my m52b28 swapped vert as soon as I can. You know my vote.

So I've decided to keep the original motor and sold the m52. I actually like the little m20 motor and it's simplicity a lot. I'll have a bunch of updates soon.

I love it. I don't like the two piece design (clamps)- which I will have tig'd. It's just as quiet as the new OE replacement bosal I had on my 89 325i. If you want aggressive don't buy this exhaust!

Another update, about $700 later and the top is 95% there. Just have to install the rear and quarter trim/seals. Installed some new stock size falken ze 912's for as well. I also ditched the stock sealed beams and put in some US ellipsoids, a huge upgrade I think.
