    Refinishing some wheels

Picked these up last week. Not sure who makes them but they are 15x6.5. I sanded them down and polished the face. Painted the inside sections black. Still have 2 wheels to refinish but I think they will look good once they are mounted on the car with tires. Nice pickup for $75. I'll post up more pics when the tires come in.

I wanna do something like this. Do good things.

Going to spray them with a clear? What kind of paint? How many coats? Bent or just rough looking?

I'm going to spray the painted surfaces with clear. Going to seal the polished surface with wheel sealant. I'm using the wheel paint you can find at autozone. First I stripped the wheels to bare metal then once I polished them, I taped off what I wanted to stay polished. Sprayed first 3 coats of paint with self-etching primer. Then 3 coats of black wheel paint followed by 3 coats clear. I wet-sanded in between the coats of clear. The wheels were pretty rough when I got them but not bent. Two of them have some pretty bad curb rash.

Nice work man. When I saw the wheels, I was like "oh no, not those wheels again"

I think you found the only way to make them look good, no caps. Nice work. Looking foward to seeing some tires mounted.

Are you going to need spacers with those?

Do you know what wheels they are or who makes them? I have no idea just curious. I'm working on a set of caps for these as well. Will be using the actual car emblems rather than stickers. I will post a pic of my first attempt for caps when it is done. Spacers will probably be needed. Offset is 35 on them and there is very little space between the inner rim and strut. I have 10mm spacers and lugs just in case. 195/50 falken 912's are on the way and should be here next week.

Can't remember off the top of my head. I just remember my buddy having them on his Integra and then saw them on dozens of other Honda's in the years following.

I think they may have been Enkei

Did about 6-7 hours worth of work on the wheels today. Filed down most of the curb rash on all of the wheels. Stripped the other 2 wheels completely.
                    Before filing:

                    After:

The wheel on the left is almost done. The middle wheel has yet to be polished; it has a center cap that I've been working on in place. Not sure If I like it or not, I will make that decision when they are on the car. Wheel on right is stripped.

Close up of the nearly finished wheel.
