Anyways today I got the other side of the block painted and dismounted the front timing cover/valve cover and oil pump to discover something unbelievable. The Top end is literally clean enough to eat off of, just like it rolled off the production line in 1992. Debating on whether I should even touch the oil pump nut as it is on there tight and this won't see much track time.
Look at the beautiful top end!


Here is the other side of the block finally painted.


the e34 oil pan/pickup/dipstick should be here tomorrow. gaskets on the way. It's starting to look more and more how I imagined.

Cylinder head painted today, Holy shit is all I can say. I love this damn thing already. Valve cover will be going out to my uncles Machine shop where he is going to Sandblast it. Then I will coat it with Ferrari wrinkle red ;). Along with the timing case. Oil pan hasn't arrived today, don't know what gives, but it was supposed to arrive today. No biggie, can't do much with it until I get the gasket for it. On to the pics.



Here is all the parts I ordered yesterday, thank you PelicanParts! Spent $492.75 on just this one order.


Basically every sensor, nut and bolt is new or refreshed (Japandrew status) but in the end, this will be to my advantage.

So ups sucks, they changed the ETA for my oil pan to tomorrow =/, no biggie, still waiting on the gaskets and will be delivering my valve cover and timing chain cover to my uncle so he can powder coat them:drink:

Finally got the e34 oil pan/pickup and dipstick. I'm happy, all but the pickup, Seller said it is brand new, yeah my ass. The thing is rusted to shit. Will be picking up a new one. Can't go wrong for 30 dollars for a brand new Genuine BMW one.

Don't know why there are spots in the picture, maybe just dust buildup.

Also sent out my valve cover and timing cover to be powder coated, ordered ebay rep headers and a magnaflow y pipe. Uncertain on muffer/resonator still.

Where do you see wear marks? Must be the flash giving some effect off, I went over the cams with a fluorescent light and it's purdy and smooth.

I know but I thin it's on the lobes? that there is a faint wear circle as the cams are rotated?

I have that same wear on my s50 cams and thought that because of it, they were bad. But who knows. If yours are good then mine have to be good.
