Motor has arrived, but don't have the engine stand at home. Engine is sitting on the concrete in my garage. Will have to make a trip down to my shop and pick up the hoist and the stand. Dragging the motor out of the back of a station wagon was not fun at all. I'm really happy with the motor, all cooling system maintenance was done, new water pump, thermostat and housing. New alternator, belt, spark plugs and valve cover gasket, PO also took the time to seafoam the engine before he removed it out of the car. He forgot to give me a few things that I will have to go and pick up this week but it's all good. It already came with the a/c delete mod:razz:



Debating on whether to use the blue/green top injectors. Ideally 19lb injectors would be perfect.

I laughed a little bit when you mentioned pulling the motor out of the back of a station wagon. How many people did you do it with? I had to pull mine out of the back of a Jeep Wrangler, with 3 people total

2 people, me and my father. Really advise against doing this, was going to pick up the crane and stand today from work, but I pulled my back out doing this shit. Never again.

yepp, this is a big difference from a 105whp m42 motor.

Good amount of progress today. Painted the exhaust side of the block today because I ran out of pain Will be picking up the rest of the paint tomorrow and will hopefully finish up the other side aswell. Plans are to keep the block black, paint the head silver, paint the timing cover wrinkle red along with the valve cover. Should be a nice bit of contrast.
Started sanding the block and head

This is after about 10 minutes of using the wirewheel. Starting to see the original color.

I think it looks awesome, especially the contrast between the freeze plugs and the black block. Now I'm waiting on the e34 oil pan, dipstick and pickup, SS rep headers, and a few other miscellaneous parts that I cannot remember off the top of my head.
