Finshed sanding all the glue off the hard top and then went over it with the 3M 220 grit paper, man is that stuff good quality. As I got near the end of the job I inlisted my dad's eye to touch up any spots I missed.

Then we threw it on his car, since mine is still in the frame shop, and drove it to my friend's house to fill, primer and paint it this week and then clear coat it next week. All in time for bimmerfest.

I may try to sell it once im done, so I can have money to buy a track car.

So today I did a bunch of work on my hard top.
Taped over the whole rear glass, since I will be sanding the whole top I don’t want to nick the glass so 3M's 3" blue tape to the rescue.
spent about 2 hours sanding the top, with 150 grit paper. Tomorrow I will finish it with

As I was sanding I noticed that from factory they used some bondo to fill up all the imperfections before they covered it with the canvas.

About half way through the sanding I took a break and flipped it over to wash the material. The simple green max did a pretty good job.

Then I let that dry and used 3M's 77 spray to glue it all back down.

Came out ok, I need to smooth out 2 spots tomorrow.
Here's want it looks like after gluing.

I'll post an update to all this tomorrow.

Very unfortunate, but you've done right by that car so far, so I wouldn't expect you to bail out now. Good luck.

Dude that's rough. Is it all worth the cost? You could start with a straighter shell

The car has always had a mad pull to the right and gets worse with speed. To the point that if I go past 80mph I have the steering wheel cranked so far left it feels like I’m steering into the left lane. And all this is after camber plates, rear correction, new everything. This led me to believe it was a frame issue. The car is on the rack now getting measured. We'll see.

i'm not getting the correlation between the bottom of the fender being banged up and the car having frame damage? it would be conceivable that only that area of the fender could have been damaged and it no longer fits properly, no?

not really. it sounds like shit. drones all the time and there is something loose inside. the IE one weighted almost 1/2 and sounded better. but rubbed on my body kit.

Thanks to my PO who left me this nice gift. after I pulled off the mtech kit to have Oliver paint it, I found that the car's frame been damaged at some point. so now in the morning she goes on the rack to get straightened.
just behind the passanger wheel the outer fender has seperated from the inner.
