Allright, got a call back from the mechanic.

Bad news: he pulled a chunk of metal about the size of a penny out of the cooling system. Ideas?

Good news: the car does not have catalytic converters, is exempt from needing them at all, and gets much less strict smog gas level limits. I have no idea how all of this is possible, but it is. Hell Yeah.

You bought a large P.O.S. my friend. Good luck with it.

Don't know how well they would fit, but how about a set of 17x9 Alpina's?

I've had the thermostat housing fall apart on me. Check under the hose for disintegration.

I would definitely check/replace water pump and thermostat.

Got the car back, as well as the little chunk of metal.

Here is a shot of the ref sticker:

My cell can't take a decent shot of the metal fragment, I will take one tonight with my housemate's SLR. It looks like a bit broken off a circular plate a bit less than a millimeter thick, and it is non-ferrous.

I wish! But then I would be keeping them. Style 32's would look great as well.

                            early e24 suspension parts

                            Hey man, nice find!

I had a 1980 US 633 that i picked up in similar shape and for similar money, and I loved working on it. one of the sexiest cars ever. too bad mine was totaled.

I've got some beefy sway bars that fit the early 6 if you're interested, I think I may even have some lowering springs.

Let me know if you're interested!
