    You too?

I've even been having thoughts about picking up an M535i E28 and jamming a GT40 on it for cheap skidding fun.

So hot, so cheap (compared to good E24s) :(

Friday update - got a cold, spent several hours at the DMV.

The car is registered, titled, plated, and smogged! It passed smog on the first try, without catalytic converters.

Also I got several keys code-cut, and just trashed the one it came with, because it was completely rounded down. Much better :)

I really like this car. I'll just say it, I'm jealous, even of the ideosyncratic problems that this and any other E12 sharks suffer from.

Oh, and like was said earlier, the tank in you trunk is indeed a fuel vapor expansion tank. My E21 has one too. I guess they were worried about filling up in the Alps and then magicly transporting the car to the Sahara...

edit: Those circles on your trunklid look oddly like the remains of stud welding, but I can't be sure.
That tank with the hoses above your filler is some kinda vapor canister for your fuel system.
