The adapters might give enough clearance for the hubs, which would let you mount pretty much any BMW rim in a five lug, but you'd have to pull the rims to get to the hubs, unless it was something with a center cap and a large enough opening to get to the hub, probably be easier to find something bmw-esque in a 5x5.5.

If he used an axle from a fulltime 4wd Dodge there would be no lockout hubs to worry about. the dana 44 could be converted to that setup but most people didnt like cruising around in 4x4 all day
