    Project 88 325is, vert replacement (because racecar content) -- R. I. P.

Well I haven't heard much of anything from the ins co, I have a feeling it will be fun getting any sort of decent amount for my car. The lady who hit me was certainly older than I am, but on the police report under id, it just says ca id. No dl number, and her dob is listed as sometime in 91. Highly skeptical, to say the least.

I have had this shell for some time now, I got it off of "intro" here in town after he parted it out. The timing belt idler pulley collapsed on him. I will be putting in as much stuff from the vert into this as I can, suspension, engine etc. She'll be getting a full cage here in my shop, among other things...like a diy custom paint job I've got in my head, and plastics. I so need a better hood, pass fender and ds door. Hello, picknpull.

Here's few snapshots before I start tearing into it.

So I'm about to pull the m20 boat anchor out, but here's the status on the rest if the car. Trust me, I have a plan, of sorts.

Well we didn't have my load leveler here (loaned out) nor chains or straps, so we made this work. It did, beautifully. Lol'ed the whole way.

The block is junk as far as I'm concerned, so that's why I didn't mind so much ;)

I pulled my M20 out using head bolts also...lol. Can't wait to see what you've got planned.

I have a tendency to over do things, and this is no exception. Problem is, I need it to drive, so the only time to gather fun and odd parts for it will be while I still can't tear into the vert. Once I get money and that is handled, then, well I hope I have a bunch more pictures of unusual shit. The m52 then goes in. Trust me, this car will be a total mashup of coolness imo. An idea or two might bring out the cases of haterade, but if I make it work, itll be, um, unique. No good clues for you guys till I have parts in my hands though, as I did with the painless harness there.

Finally got the sunroof out, I couldn't open the damn thing to get at two spot welds along the side of the opening, so the process of finding them really did a bang up job (pun intended) effin up the roof itself. Oops. Gonna go at it with some cave man tools and a couple blocks of wood to get it back closer first.

Get ready to be sea sick, lol. Lil wavy...hmm :)

Ill order those parts once insurance cuts me a check. They sent me their first offer yesterday, well that's when I got it. It uh, could be better. Not forgetting about my smoked hellas, that got hella smoked in the accident. I sent them an email back last night, I didn't expect to hear back today, but hopefully tomorrow or friday they offer something better...
