Oddly enough, I received a check in ther mail at my house today from unitrin for the original, owner retained value. I don't know if this is a bait check that will lock me into it, or the first of potentially some more money in case I chose to give them the car, or they adjusted the value up...which I think is the case. I've just never dealt with this before, so I don't know. The check is payable to my father though, which is weird as he was only a contact that could speak for me. My insurance. He will call tomorrow to see if I can cash/deposit the money before settling a final value price, and them presumably sending another smaller check. Its getting closer. I suppose they sent the smallest amount check they could right away to start it. I doubt they would want several large checks floating around.

I didn't get my dash or seats friday, and I need two more sticks of dom for the cage, so I came back home to start the disassembly process parts removal from my vert.

I plan to make the back into a trailer, so the front is fair game to get at what I need.

                  Who said what?? SAWZALL!

I plan to pull the motor, trans, subframe and struts as one piece next weekend when I come back again. Gonna basically lift and support the shell with a hoist and drag it off. Everything that is still attached is at least loose...

I'm hoping the cage will be complete by wednesday. Still needs the dash bar, rear x, and to finish the tubes into the trunk and engine bay. By then it should be clean enough to spray bomb the interior with cans and cans of rustoleum professional. I got the steel grey paint. Once that is sufficiently dry ill start routing wires and things for my gauges and fuse panel inside. Tomorrow I will remove all of the unnecessary brackets in the engine bay, and drop the rear subframe out in order to weld on the camber and toe plates.

Last note tonight, or first today..whichever, I ordered my radiator and rear view mirror.
Radiator is a mishimoto I found for 216 and free shipping at vr-speed.com
Rear view mirror is a longacre 17" panoramic with brackets to mount on the front halo bar.
