    Twin turbo V6 E30.

This is my current project. I bought the E30 specifically to fit this driveline too.
    The Car. 85 323i.

The engine. Nissan VQ30DET alloy V6. Was single turbo from factory with 200kw.

A very compact and light engine that can take a lot of power unopened. Perfect for an E30? Except for this bit.

The sump is a stupid shape and poisitions the engine forward in the bay.
This is the main problem, no point fitting a light alloy V6 that is very short if it is not tucked up against the firewall.
    Solution?

I dropped the engine and box in yesterday and made the engine and gearbox mounts. The engine mounts are std VQ30 with an adaptor plate to drop the block bracket down and move it out slightly. Ridiculously simple.

Have to reinforce the X member mount and add material for the second bolt hole yet.

Gearbox mount is a holden item with a spacer and steel bracket. This will be press bent in a single piece, the one in the pic is just temporary.

So it's all fitting very nicely. Front and rear clearance.

The plan is to make a poor mans VR38 engine. I was originally going to use two VF46 subaru turbos but they are physically a bit big to fit so I have cleaned up a pair of R32GTR turbos I had lying around. They are physically very compact and also a bit bigger in the compressor and turbine than the VF46's.

A custom inlet manifold is also required as the std item is rubbish and also way too tall.
    Something like this.

Next step is to plate the sump back together and add some wings to regain the capacity lost by chopping it. Then start on the exhaust manifolds.

I have the luxury of doing all the work in Sketchy's spare shell so I don't have to take the red car off the road.

Rear end plan is to fit the S14 R200 diff and machine the S14 spindles down to press into E30 wheel bearings to allow the big nissan shafts to fit.

Front brakes will be subaru 326mm rotors with STi Brembos, yet to decide on rears, probably be R32 2 pots. Probably do the same booster/master combo as Sketchy's 2JZ E30.

Awesome build, I've always wanted to do a VR6 swap into an e30. This is close enough.
