The engine is in and mounted.

    Engine mounts.

    Cross member tubes.

Cross member out of the car.

Just enough clearance to the steering rack.

Lots of room in between the engine and radiator.

Threw on some fenders. It's been a long time since it was like this.

This will likely be the last update for the next year or so. The place we are moving into is an apartment complex, so I won't really have anywhere to work. The car will be in storage. After our lease is up, we will be moving into someplace with more room though and progress will commence.

    Hey look, an UPDATE!

Built a new transmission mount tonight. The original one I made was hitting the inside of the trans tunnel after moving the engine back. I also never liked how one mount was at an extreme angle. Started by bending a piece of 1/8" strap to fit the trans.

I completely removed the old passenger side mount and drilled a hole for the rubber mount to bolt through. Then just pieced it together one piece at a time.

Here you can see the shape of the mount a bit more. Kinda complex.

Next up is lowering the engine/trans back into the car and fabricating motor mounts. That is easy as it is just a few pieces of angle like before. It also looks like I might be able to use the original trans crossmember mounting holes, which would save a bit of work. More to come in the next week.

Well, the entire garage is going to be filled with stuff, not just the car. There won't be any room to work in it at all.

But like I said, we are only staying at this place long enough to get established and find something better.

No, there is a lot more room than the pictures might suggest.

Haven't worked on this in a while sadly. My GF and I are moving to Portland next month and the car will be coming with me, but for now, all I will have is a single car garage to store it in. We plan on taking about a year (our lease term) to save up some money and find a bigger, better place. Until then, I won't be working on the car at all.

I will however be getting the engine and transmission mounted back in the car soon. It's the best place for it to be, mounted i the car, instead of on an engine stand. We are moving the middle of next month, so I will have it mounted by then. Pictures of that to come.
