Nice progress! That new shop space is friggin awesome. Your brother's e21 with an m30 swap was lovely. Wish I could have had a chance to get a ride in it but it was rather late when I came by!Leave a comment:

Thanks Vlad! Well that chopper with the girder in the pics will be done by summer...or I can just build you a chopper to match your m3 ;)Leave a comment:

I also removed and patched up the ugly side markers:
They both also had some rust:

Welded in before I finished grinding it smooth:

We've been really busy moving into the new shop and working on the Alpina...but found some time to pull the motor on the 323. As for the flood of leaking oil out of the tran, what we thought was a cracked or damaged rear main seal turned out to be a poorly installed oil pan gasket that was leaking like crazy...
The new shop, my paint booth is going in on the other side of the wall:

Pulling the motor:

Motor out:

4 INCHES of pinched gasket, causing a huge leak:

Yeah if you mean Phat as in PHugly, then yes, they are!
I think we're gonna keep the Euro bumps, but if we change our minds, I'll let you know!
So today was spent mostly on my bro's 320...I finished welding the patches in the floor pans (LOTS of rust, but not anymore!) and he mounted his IS lip we scored at a pick-n-pull!!
But we also scored a new hood latch and pull lever at the junkyard for cheap, and I fixed the drivers seat so now it functions perfectly!!
A closing hood!

^^LOL, thanks bro^^ But if you surf out there in Lisbon, you've got way better conditions than I do here! That's why I keep a board and suit out in LA, so I can get some time in the Pacific!Leave a comment:

OOohh, sorry to hear that!!
Yeah they are +12 offset and are staggered 15x6 front and 15x7 rear, I went with 195/50 in the front and 205 50 in the rear to maintain similar profiles!
No the sports are Vinyl, absolutely MINTY fresh, I'm not even going to put them into the car until after it's painted and ready to go!Leave a comment:

Aww, thanks. Mine has unfortunately degenerated into a beater due to some guardrail interaction a few months ago :(Yeah, the wheels are straight out of Trenton, absolutely hideous! The seats are not recaros they are comforts, but the rear seat is nice and I have a set of MINT sport seats I've been saving for just the right occasion, this would be it!
BTW, I know I've told you this before, but now that I have one too, you're sedan is my hero :)
I also have a set of 15" Alpina's I'm getting refinished next week off my 330i e21 Alpina that I'm going to throw on the 323 for fun. Although I think 16's are the way to go on e30's 15's can look good with the right tire profile!
The seats looked like recaros based on the headrests in the first photo. Sports should be nice in it, though. Cloth?
Also, 15" Alpinas look perfect on e30s with the right tires. If they're off the e21, they're also super-low offset, which helps.Leave a comment:
