Just picked up a 318i last year. It sat in the barn till a week ago.
The car was stripped and caged. But not very well, Its a CSC cage 6 point. there is not much left of the car, as we started to pull it apart there is a TON of rust and holes in the unibody design.
Time for some metal repair and to tie the subframes together before the car bends in half.
The field is full of Rabbits/Lasers/ and of course, the favorite car of choice, 4cyl Mustangs.
The season has started with a bang.. The coil wire had a rubbed spot that was leaking voltage to the strut tower (grounding out) Moved the coil wire away into the air, hit the starter and BANG, the fuckin battery blew its top, covering my face and eye in acid. after a quick wash and to the hospital for a freezing and IV solution to flush my eye, Doc's say they see no other damage.
Putting new wires on the car and another battery, make sure it starts and still reves nice, then compression test and leakdown test and the motor is comin out.
Pics should be up by midweek of where the car is at to this point.
OH and the battery is being moved to whats left of the trunk with the fuel cell.
staytuned for updates as the progression to the 2011 season gets underway, Target is testing first two firdays in may.
