    E30 M42 + Eaton MP62

    Oh, they look like goodies.

Blow the M42. The good way!

    Eaton M62
    42lb Injectors
    Intercooler
    8-9PSI on stock internals
    Spal 16" Puller
    Jackson Racing M62 Miata manifold
Megasquirt II or III, whichever I decide
    New Euro 323i flywheel
Spec stage II+ (iffy about it, but too late now.)
    AEM eugo wideband
    Sparco R505 seat

And a bunch of other shit.

I'm optimistic to have it together by my birthday in May, but seeing as I have no garage to work in, I'm at the mercy of the weather.

    Going on this:

Which is currently at the bodyshop(Healdsburg Collision Center) getting repainted, the front fenders reworked, and the IS front lip/skirts paintmatched. Oh, and the antenna hole deleted. It looks kinda like this:

Sucks considering I'll be looking at developing an m42 turbo kit soon and I need a guiney pig.

What HP are you looking at making with that setup?

I made 8 psi on my S52 swapped E30, and the almost 400hp it made wasnt quite enough.

Good luck with the build and the timeline though!

I'm aiming for around 200-220. If I build up my spare M42, I'll be aiming for significantly higher.

FYI the only thing sketchy about the Spec kits are their Chinese bearings. Installed a Spec Stage III kit into a racer kid's '06 GTO, clutch was/is great, pilot bearing toasted after 2 weeks. Pulled apart and installed Timken piece and for good measure an OE t.o.b., all is golden @ 1 year+.

What're you giggling at? I'm not gonna be a sucker and gain an extra 2 cylinders, even though I've had the chance quite a few times. :p

Thanks! I'm not at huge risk for a ref ticket where I live, but I still want it to be discrete.

I've heard people having issues with the Spec rivets as well, which is my main concern. I'll probably use the Euro 323 TOB I have here. Thanks for the heads up on the pilot bearing, though.

I had a different issue with a Spec clutch, the splines in the friction disc itself. I had it in my GTI for maybe 2k miles. This was a STG 3 so supposedly good to 400 tq. The input shaft shredded the teeth out of the friction disc, shaft received no damage. My car had solid mounts, shrick cams, intake/full exhaust, tune, light flywheel, MAYBE 200 whp. I've heard several reports about the TO bearings begin junk, some making noise even when new.
