Holy shit I'm keeping my reciepts.
I guess if you do your own work, you can't really count that into consideration for value increase, can you?

9800?!?! Holy fuck, brb switching insurance companies. So, here's an update:
I called the appraisal company, and as I said, state farm did not send them any of the new receipts for the vehicle. I emailed over copies, and the car re-appraised at $9200. State Farm offered me a $9,800 dollar check, and for $1800, I keep my car. Considering it's sitting in my driveway, I'm buying it back; I'll end up with a $7990 total loss check.
Cut rear quarter off, throw fiberglass over-fenders on, track car...?
Sorry for the lame update. :\Leave a comment:

I am REALLY surprised that they offered that much for a car that insurance companies typically consider worth less then $2500 now for a decent shaped one with maintenance receipts.
I just went thru this a year ago, repairs were close enough that I was able to get it repaired and back and no salvage title.Leave a comment:

Yeah, you could have easily bought a well sorted e30 for that cash.Leave a comment:

It's repairable, there's no question about that -- I just don't want the car to hold a salvage title, and my insurance company doesn't value it enough to repair it with a clean title. Sorry to hear about your peugeot, bud. :\
:(
I apologize for never getting to do de boosted tandems with you, my friend. :(
small update: got the first offer from state farm today. $7800 with an $1800 buy back on the vehicle, leaving me at 6k with my car back. I declined, I know that's undervaluing the car.

To be honest, that may be salvageable right there...
A shop has written me an estimate to pull and reshape the rear of my car, which has kinda similar damage to yours.
