So going to wrap this swap up this week

Going to drop the head off tomorrow, then pressure wash the bay, and gather up any lose parts

Only things left to buy are, more brake cleaner and engine oil and 6 quarts of atf!

Yup, I am happy with it.

Need to order headbolts, and maybe exhaust nuts (I might just reuse mine) and then I am good to go!

Got some parts today; timing belt it and intake boot. Intake boot is a great piece for $16, very soft, manipulable rubber (Meyle brand).

Going to get the manifolds, etc. off my head tonight so I can get it machined first thing next week. Im leaving town Friday unfortunately :(

All I need is headbolts now and I am ready to go!

Your car = almost exact clone of my car. It's funny cause I just did bunch of my maintanence stuff in preparation for it to get smogged.
Glad to see your keeping it kicking instead of tossing it to the curb after your popped your engine :)

Successfully did a timing belt and water pump job yesterday! Took 7 hours, most of the time was spent trying to figure out how to get the timing belt and accessory belts on. lol noob status..

First time belt went on we somehow went out of time, but second time was the charm

Parts I got Friday include: Elring upper gasket set, VR lower gasket set, elring tranny filter kit, engine and tranny mounts

Elring stuff looks fairly nice. Packaging is sort flimsy, but not much worse than the VR. Oh and it says Made in Germany, not China like other members here have noted.

You'd learn a lot more if you spend some time to find out how you r3v'ed that motor - just sayin'

Rest of the parts dont come for a week. Well that is enough time to get one of my heads decked and cleaned.

Doing my friend's timing belt and oil pan gasket Friday. Make a little money!

    Some update pictures!

Some pics from this weekend! Thank you again to Dan (dirtsquirt) and Christoff for helping get that motor out!

Received a few parts today, well just one of my orders. Some belts, a cap, rotor, thermostat, and orings. The bosch parts look top notch, they are nice and high quality, just that the "finish quality" is just not on par with the rest of the part. Pics:

The Wahler part is wonderful looking!
