Read this whole thread at work today. So much win in here. Exactly what I'd like to accomplish with my car. Keep it up! -
Isn't your motor higher on that side because of the lowered motor mount arm? Meaning you'll need a thinner bushing to make up the difference?Leave a comment:

Some more progress. With the motor starting to look pretty good, the throttle body looked pretty bad. I decided to take it apart and have it powdercoated but my PC guy thought the heat from the oven may damage the needle bearings. With parts for the throttle body mostly NLA, I decided against it and just painted it with some high temp ceramic paint. It turned out pretty good and looks better than when I started.

I also started mounting the charge pipes. The large u-shaped pipe mounts to the A/C and alternator brackets and since I no longer have A/C, I needed to make a bracket. No biggie, just bent some metal and sent it off to PC with some other stuff. Hopefully its back this week so I can button that up.

I also pulled the coil wire out of the plug wire harness to get a little more slack. I wanted to route it under the pipes and AFM as opposed to over the top. Again, no biggie. Its starting to look like an engine bay.

To do on my day off Thursday: Get downpipe and exhaust mounted, finish the mounts for oil cooler and heat exchangers. If I have time, figure out where to mount the pump and resevoir for the aftercooler. After that, its just a few little details here and there. I need to order my fittings for the oil cooler and drain from the turbo and get that all sorted.Last edited by Mtriple; 08-30-2017, 04:35 AM.Leave a comment:

So it looks like the mounts are not the issue...

Mounts are in just need to pick them up tomorrow from Blunt's bunker. It's become painfully obvious how much I dont know about the M20. The car and motor have been apart for so long that its a struggle to do the easiest of tasks such as install an alternator. I'm fighting through it with the bentley, realoem, and just scanning through any picture I can find of an M20 and saving it to my computer.
Harness is in, I'm going to hold off on relocating the diagnostic plug and relays to the harness cover until this thing is running. I dont want any self induced snafu's that keep the car from starting the first time. I have enough new variables to work through in the hopes that the car runs.
Anyway, here are some pictures of progress!

It's always something. Sorry for the delay but I know you'll work it out and have this on the road before the end the decade!

Motherfucking downpipe clearance issues...

As you can see its hitting the firewall even after removing the heatshield and cutting away some insulation. Talked with Todd at TCD and he thinks its the urethane motor mounts that are making the motor sit a little higher than the stock would. So, I ordered some factory mounts from Blunt and will give those a shot when they come in. The last thing I want to do is "persuade" the firewall.
I'm currently installing the main harness back into the car. More updates tomorrow...Last edited by Mtriple; 08-30-2017, 04:21 AM.Leave a comment:

Lets hope so Chris, I have not been too good about working on this over the winter. Spring is here so I'm hoping to get motivated again...Leave a comment:

....With near 80* temps in NH, I have to wonder, has Minnetonka thawed out enough to allow access to the secret lair yet? Will this be the year?Leave a comment:

And it looks like you got the wheels and tires on there too! Afraid the world is ending soon or something?
