    Thanks guys.

    Yeah the diff still needs to be rebuilt, but for this track meet i cannot afford the kit to do it (would not arrive in time as well) so for now i will have to kill it some more for another two days. It will really suck on the sweeper on this other track too :(

    I am no race driver so i take all criticism good or bad, i agree with you on being smoother, sometimes you get the red mist going and just forget to do it right.

    Nice dude, you can drive! I would suggest slowing your hands down and being smoother in general to be faster and more consistent, but that's a great pace.

    Ever build that diff? You can hear it slipping in the clip, that's annoying.

    I don't want to alarm you but I think your steering wheel is on the wrong side of your CAR!!!

    And keep up the great work!!! amazing car!

    Well.....

    So got the car in the workshop and changed and fitted many things.

    * Fluid changes for everything (only genuine Toyota filters for your BMW haha) and trying some different gearbox fluid this time.
    * Re-afix a broken radiator pipe
    * Repair the fan wiring that got taken out when the pipe failed
    * Cut more of the floor out around the shifter as i was getting a shocking vibration from contact with the floor.
    * TRD short shifter which then meant the gear knob needed a thread made to refit (stock E46 M3 6 speed knob)
    * Make some clearance between the gearbox and trans tunnel so the exhaust can run up next to the gearbox and over the crossmember (shit ground clearance atm)
    * Played around with sway bar mounts yet again (will be going up a size in front bar yet again in the future, but due to custom bar having to be made each time it's quite expensive at $440 a pop!)
    * removed the entire rear end again and swapped the eccentrics around. Also lathed the eccentric heads down to facilitate actually being able to adjust them in car (subframe is raised 12mm in this car) such a crap design. If i was to do this again i would go the whole hog and rose joint the arms as per DTM. Constant loosening is a pain.
    * Trying a new wheel alignment setup too so see how that goes.
    * Having to fit a fire extinguisher for the racing rules
    * Space the tailshaft down to improve the alignment
    * New TRD engine mounts
    * Fix some power steering leaks (standard BMW)
    * Retighten the seats etc

    Still no stereo lol..... Priorities!

    Made some purchases for the exhaust too and will be making a new setup from the primaries back (reducing the secondary length and making the exhaust to suit the current and future setup when a new extractor is made along with the ITB's)

    So used Summit for the first time. Great service and will definitely use them again. No wonder they are so well known and successful at mail order!

    Will post pictures of when the exhaust is done this week. Track day is next weekend and i am now doing both days not just one.

    Exhaust will now be:- 2 inch secondaries (350mm long) into merge collector (2x2 inch to 2.25 inch short reverse cone to 2.5 inch), flex, ovaled pipe near gearbox, high flow magnaflow cat, vibrant resonator and into a Hooker Aerochamber muffler (especially looking forward to using this as the flow/noise is so much better than anything else at the price point)

    Also added a picture of some E9's outside the workshop. They're rare as hens teeth in Australia, and you just don't see them sitting out on the road. That is a genuine Inka orange CSL too.

    Well after trying to keep up with my mates well modded MR2 turbo this happened....

    So time to finally sort out the exhaust (well the rear at least)

    Soooo many things to do before the track day in under a month, not looking good.

    (the exhaust is completely blown apart at the weld seam)

    Thanks.

    In regards to the seats it was loose as per Youtube comment. When bolted in correctly they are fine (don't happen to have a crash test of a Kevlar Bride Stradia do you?) either way i feel safer in this than the stock seat and this car being a daily will never have a fixed back seat.

    As you can probably tell we have access to quite a lot of cheap gear from Japan.

    The car owns and I love that swap!

    The seat flex is kinda scary, though.

    Please consider getting some fixed back seats, even if you're just swapping them out for track days. Those look like they might be pretty hazardous to your health if you have a big off.

    Used fixed buckets can be found cheap - I have a Bride Zeta III that I snagged for $300.

    Have been a bit quiet with the car of late.

    The parts arrived from Japan so will get these in soon.

    The diff is crying for a rebuild after being abused at the track so that will need to be done before i go to Winton to race in April/May.

    Took it for a run with some mates to Hanging Rock and after getting such a good deal on dent removal i got the whole car done (25 years of accumulated dents, there was a lot) so looking ok, even with the mcf#cked paint.

    Cheers.

    Yes very surprised at the braking performance but really needs vented rear discs. After the longer sessions the brake was burning off the section of the bell of the rear discs that is next to the disc portion.

    I will be addressing that when i upgrade the brakes, but they will stay for now.

    I chose the brakes and tyres (and 215 sizing) from the E30 racers, if it aint broke don't fix it;)

    Looks good mate. I've been running the PFC 01's for a while now. Amazing stopping power when they come up to temp. Brake and tyre set up that you're running is e30 racing spec and must say from trying a few different tyre and brake combo's its the best for track work. Well unless you go to a full slick. . . .

    Tried on my friends race wheel setup.....

    Surprised they virtually fit on the rear, the front is a different story though.

    On another note thumbs up for the PFC brake pads. I was out braking most cars, quite surprised by that. So i will hold off on upgrading those for the time being.

    Diff needs a rebuild now (pretty much already did anyway) so time to fork out for a 4 plate upgrade.

    Also bought these the other day:-

    ORC single plate clutch, TRD short shifter and some TRD engine mounts.
