    Thanks mate.

What are the rules like in your state of America with regards to engine swaps? Or does it solely revolve around the emissions (smog) side of things?

Love this car! Something about a reliable hi-revving 4 banger. Congrats on getting it legal. Im building an aluminum M52 and when it gets swapped in, Im going to have a fun time trying to make it legit. All part of the fun, right??

What is the latest with this project?

The car is now legally engineered in the state of Victoria! (no easy task here trust me)

    RWC and registration to follow.

    Rapt.

    Thanks Iain.

Yeah i have since found out about those rules. Quite a few differences in all of the E30 M3's out here in Australia that have raced.

That is the one David Towe owns. Jim Richards still owns his championship car (and his championship E24). The stock arms are 99% likely due to rules mandating stock arms vs the much freer DTM regulations.

Hubs have been out back in along with the driveshafts and the diff fluid.

The rest of the items will be put in/adjusted tomorrow. Should be off the stands by the end of the weekend anyway.

Freezing the hubs in my chest freezer worked a charm too.

Got most of it done today, forgot to bring home the tool to refit the hubs without damaging the wheel bearings so the driveshafts and hubs will have to wait for now.

All the parts are back from the sandblasters etc and have been painted ready to go.

    - So the beam had toe and camber adjustment plates fitted.
    - The control arms we welded a reo bar in like the M coupe and strengthened the sway bar tabs.
    - The driveshafts were rebuilt.
    - Replaced the wheel bearings.
    - poly bushes as we already know.
    - The before mentioned diff.

    Reassemble it all this weekend.

Rebuilt the diff today with all new seals, bearings and o-rings along with the M diff cover and Poly urethane bushing. (yes a gear from a T50 Toyota box was a perfect match for pushing out the original diff bushing......)

Stripped the control arms and the subframe beam for adjustment fitting/welding reinforcements, sandblasting, urethane bushes and painting too.

Finally found a cheap working (and not about to die) electric aerial to replace the dead one.

Parts like this are not easy to find in Australia, especially cheap like this.

Yeah i think the s2k engine would work great, just very expensive here.

It has good bottom end torque but it was made to rev. It is like the 2litre equivalent f a blacktop 20v (just more torque)

I think that the U.S. equivalent of this swap would be the S2K motor. Awesome build dude

    How's the torque?
