Weather has finally cooled down and I was able to polish the rest of the car, so that was good. Still waiting for driveshaft stuff, much harder than I thought it would be to be honest. So the last couple days I went to work on the trunk tar. Words cannot describe how astounded I was when I felt how heavy this stuff was...

It was stupid dirty/dusty in there

Been a while...got my first full-time job out of college and been working like crazy...biggest news was selling my M3 for my 335.

      Old:

      New:

But on with the E30, got a few things to get it back on the road...

First package was the must-have: New driveshaft from Driveline Services of Portland.

This was the want-to-have: 3.73 LSD from an automatic 88 325is.

      Getting the exhaust outta there

After much struggling finally got the old shaft out with the super-PITA damper still attached...

And the blown to crap U-joints

Luckily the spare G260 that came with the car had a good guibo and three bolts so I didnt have to bother with the old ones still attached to the damper

No photos after that becasue I was way too dirty to touch my camera, but the new shaft is in and clunk free. Only thing waiting is new exhaust manifold gaskets to replace the ones I ripped to shreds. I tried to take the diff out, but I was failing. I think I'll just take it somewhere to have it installed.
