Hey guys, I bought a very clean 1987 zinnoberrot eta about two weeks ago. I bought it for $2500. The mileage is only 120xxx miles. Water pump and timing belt were changed less than 1000 miles ago by a BMW dealership. The interior and exterior are very clean. The only thing that it needs replacing is maybe the muffler and struts. Anyways here are the pics.
What I am planning for this car;
-Complete Suspension overhaul
-Rims (thinking 16x8 Grids *flame suit on) + rubber
-Custom Exhaust all the way from header back
-Buff rest of car
-Shadowline
-Remove Pinstripe (done)
-Debadge 325e (done)
-Clean clean clean
It is my only car
Anyways within the first day, I decided to see what I could do with the slightly faded color. I buffed it and it came out great.
The next couple days, I went and bought some duplicolor trim paint. I wanted to make the trim and stuff look pretty much brand new. I did the door handles, side mirrors, window wipers and gates, and also the kidney's/grills. pics
I don't have pics of before/after, but holey s*** they turned out good. They were a grey color before.
Since I bought my e30, I have been cruising around craigslist for some plastic bumpers. I was able to find a rear and front with all items for $150 local. I was so happy. They are not my color, but I am just going to do some duplicolor paint on them. Anyone know a duplicolor paint that is close to zinnoberrot? Thanks
Here is a pic of the Plastic bumpers
So tonight I decided to start disassembling the front diving board. It only took about 20 minutes to get it off.
bammm. Didn't have time to cut off the tow rings and test fit it. I wanted to so bad, but It is still 105 degrees out at 9 p.m. (damn you arizona). So next thing I will be doing is sanding/prepping the front plastic bumper so I can get it painted.
