Dont do it. I bought OBX headers on ebay and the fitment is horrible. I got them for a budget build so its not a big deal. But yeah it shouldnt take ratchet straps, pry bars, sledge hammer, and a block of wood to make some headers and an x pipe work.

To get these headers to fit by prying and bending, doesnt this create stress points that'll ruin the mounting area and piping over.time?

Ummm probably. They are a temp fix anyway. When my card gets paid down from what parts I did purchase, I plan on going with a turbo from blueapplesoda. And I've been trying to use as much cash as possible on this build so lucky for me there's only around six hundred on my card thus far, and the car is almost driving. But yeah your probably right.

I am going to criticize the hell out of this, just like I do everything else I don't like in R3V. Just like I did on DTMpower. I know I speak for a group on this forum when I say, there isn't a problem with effort, there is a problem with wasted effort. If you really want to shock us, do something right the first time, have some pride, and slow down your builds. Japandrew may be a silly MFer, but at least he does his shit right. Burrougs (while he doesn't really "build" his cars, at least has the sense to slow shit down and finish things in order, and take steps to do things correctly.
So much on this forum is I need it now, which is why people do things like wrap their cars, paint them with rollers, Primer them out. The expensive and hard stuff takes time. Just because you slapped an s52 into your e30 in a week doesn't make you cool. If you tore the engine down, rebuilt what needed to be rebuilt, re-sealed it, then rested it in your car on new mounts with a new clutch, then you get respect. Anyone can spraybomb an engine bay or slap a motor in their car. The finished product, and the longevity of the motor and tranny's life are the true product. This is what R3V is missing.
None of you "restore" shit. Don't make this a Vdub culture. Don't do things cheaply or cut corners, do them right and take the time to learn. If you can't afford it, save your money, then do it. If you can't afford it after that, maybe you should just get a honda. Help make this website THE end all be all when it comes to e30s, one that has pride in it's workmanship and it's cars.
I've got to disagree with you here man.. Not everyone needs to abide by those standards to be able to put together a car that they can enjoy. Why does everyone need to rebuild the motor they are swapping to be cool? Are BMW's not known for their longevity? That is wasted effort in my opinion. My e30 is swapped, using many parts off of the donor car, they arent new. Yet I still use it as it was intended to be used, and beyond in some cases. If it breaks, I fix it, that all just goes along with the hobby. Most of the e30 guys I autocross with are the same way, e30s should be used for fun... not as conversation pieces. But thats just me

I honestly don't see why people are raving about epic build shit. If this was a guy he would be flamed for his rice bay, not searching and figuring it out. I don't hate what the OP is doing, just shocked by the morons that post here(not at OP). Props for wanting to build a car even if you really do nothing on it.

All in all see is the car not running and you asking for someone to come get it done. You know how I tell? Your "mechanic" looks SOOOOO happy with himself after the m10 milestone. FUCK YEAH, fist pounds around!

I hear you. I guess going to Vintage has kind of swayed my opinion of what an e30 should represent. 2002s went through a "popularity" phase like this a long time ago. Now that there are e30s to buy cheaply, and mod cheaply, the 2002 is mostly left alone and is now built/ restored by a different kind of owner. The e30 will go the same way as the 2002 as e36's and parts come down in price even more. I guess my deal is this... if you want to have fun, I am all for that. But you need to be open to criticism (which the OP is). Many members of this forum are playing a protective role when others state an opinion that seems to be stated in 90% of all these types of build threads. I think some OG's who didn't expect to see this car become so widely popular and are protective of what they started, and the work they put in 10 to 15 years ago when performance parts were hard to find. There are guys out there that went through alot of trial and error in order to do things right. Now when someone stickers their hood, or rust's their car, or paints their bay a weird color, they (I) don't see it as the culture we initially got into. So it upsets us that so many are taking the easy way out when alot of OGs couldn't or wouldn't. By all means, have a blast with your car. That's why you bought it.
As far as what you've done with your swap, I am sure you went over it with a fine tooth comb before you dropped it in your car. I have an M20 sitting in my driveway as we speak that is headed in Dilsnik's red car. We will look at EVERYTHING to make sure all is good, and replace what needs to be replaced, but some items should be addressed no matter what like the TB and WP. Why not replace these wear items? Why not take the oil pan off to make sure the main bearings and oil pump are fine? It seems like a no brainer to do these things. Just like in painting an engine bay, why not remove EVERYTHING instead of painting over things like ground straps, and accelerometers.
                Just my opinion.
                Yours truly,

Hey Del... I forgot to tell you that I just picked up a stack of sk8 stickers from RUIN, some Craigslist roof racks and an S50 from Justin.. SO, I might be heading in another direction now.

I think it's a fresh look on things myself..

                  K?

JB, You make it sound like your car is modded with some tired used parts when in reality your car is clean as shit !

I think you and delatlanta think a lot more closely than you think you do. The last time i saw your car there was no fake carbon fiber, trendy stickers, hello kitty colors or any bullshit to speak of. I do remember Real suspension, Real motor, Real wheels/tires, no cut corners, or boyfriends doing the heavy lifting HAHA! Not to mention the car gets used as intended. Perhaps the only thing lacking is an unlimited budget to do everything all at once, like most of us here. I wish i still had my M30 car to autoX against you with. Another M30 will be coming...

I think you are correct. I don't think I have ever met him, but I gather that if I did, I would be impressed. I will say this, the guys and girls I have met down here are doing it right. If they aren't, they eventually do. There are too many clean cars, knowledge, and people willing to help wrench for half assed shit to go on here.
Huff, hell yeah. The red car is weak anyway.
