^Maybe not. The car might come to me to get it running. Jay is an East Coast dweller now, and the car is still in Cali. I'm doing more of these swaps, so I've offered to help if she has it shipped here. We'll see if this comes to pass.

I think what a lot of people forgot was that this is a rezlly nice Alpine-over-Cardinal car, with good paint...and BBS RS's. The S52 is already in the chassis with the E34 oil pan & associated parts. A little more focus from some peeps who've done these swpas before may have it running fairly quickly.

The East Bay is up near San Francisco. Jasper lives in SoCal.

No pun was intended based on the quotes on John's name. Because the wiring information is coming through a third party (you), I just questioned the fact whether it was John that did the wiring or someone that helped/did it for him. When I read through the thread I knew John was her bf.

I don't know if you noticed but I'm in California. Lol. So if they were local and I had the time I would have tried to shed some light on the issue if at all possible. Hopefully one of them could chime in on the details of their short-comings as opposed to you being their messenger. Lol.

Dude, if you are local, they would appreciate that very much, I'm sure! I'll tell John to get on R3V and PM you about this!

I haven't looked at the wiring harness; John told me he'd figured out that it was an E34 one. I'm half a country away.

I know John & Jay were asked for some info that they didn't give; they are pretty frustrated and between that, and being busy with other stuff, they just haven't been on here much. Or really worked on the car very much.

By the way "John" is Jaylissa BF. Not sure what the quotation marks were about...

Well honestly I went back a couple pages and you mentioned that the wiring harness was an e34 bit. Its not. Based on the pictures of her changing the oil pan with the motor hanging incorrectly on chains, the harness is an e36 harness.

If they want more help we (forum members) need more information and possibly pictures of the said wiring harness job "John" did. There is a possibly that he did fry something but honestly the wiring colors and gauges between a late model e30 and e36 are not far off. Its hard to imagine how someone goes wrong with the wiring harness.

I'd be more than happy to double check her wiring or perhaps even make a x20 to c101 diagram for her/him to double check on (of course when I have time after my test tomorrow).

    Jahnaboi,

I don't know, to be honest with you, whether they are getting spark or not. John did the wiring harness himself, but I think there was a snafu there. I remember him telling me that his clutch line was sizzling...not a good sign!! I think probably some wires got fried, and will have to be replaced. This is the exact reason i went with a harness adapter from erikT (which worked PERFECTLY, by the way) - I don't trust myself with wiring!!
