I ran the engine for a few minutes so it's hot, then sprayed Simple Green on the dirty parts of the car and had a long handle brush and started scrubbing. Then power washed it.

The approved cleaner for Cosmoline is, in fact, mineral spirits. Not exactly what you wanna call harsh, but I am sure the SG is more "green".
ya normal simple green is laughable, at best. but max i really like.

i dont have personal pic of what ive clean here with me at work sorry.

Gasoline could work too. I used a knife blade on the bulk of it on top of my airbox... Im sure gas or a solvent would take the rest off.

Also... simple green has like 30 different products.. just they only sell the normal stuff at most stores.

Clean with mineral spirits and steel wool, like 0000 or finer. You can get every bit of cosmoline off with it.

    Hey everyone!
Im so glad to see more girls on this thread! My intension of this thread is to hopefully bring more girls to the car world and show the girls not to be afraid to get down and dirty to work on cars! It's an amazing accomplishment to work on cars, especially if it's your own, treat it like if it's your boyfriend! (I totally have an love affair with my car shhhh!)

    Update 2
Just a little update on what's been happening.Yesterday, I purchased these motor mounts http://revshift.com/shop/motor-mount...or-mounts.html from RevShift and at the same day they so happen to contact me because they've seen my forum about looking for a driveshaft. Revshift introduced me to their new product that's coming out soon and for those of you that are interested in this swap , this will save you some moneys ! =D

It's a new m/s5x swap GUIBO that allows me to keep e30 driveshaft hence, I don't have to spend extra money on an e36 driveshaft, a center support bearing, and also guibo. I was so stoked to hear about this product because I'm already going over my budget and this will save me a lot! . So they're letting me try those bad boys out along with the tranny mounts! Im so excited I'll let you guys know how I feel about it after i try them out!

Now I just need to find the perfect brake booster ! And What kind of products do you recommend using to clean the engine bay and won't destroy the paint?!

Thanks for your time off I go to work with my mom's tsx for now!

until then I'll catch you later!
    Be safe and have fun!
    -Jaylissa.

    "Drive shaft:
If you are using a ZF S5D320Z transmission you will have to use a drive shaft out of an E30 M3, 98 M3 (U-joint type only), 87-88 325E or 96-98 E36 328. Use the E30 center support mounted backwards on E36 drive shafts."

I was wondering if anyone else can confirm this? thanks for the response !

    Jay
Not sure about the `87-`88 325E ones, and the `96`98 328 ones must be from a manual transmission car.
