Just finished the b27i conversion, I have run into a problem. Before I did the conversion it would have a little trouble starting up(outboard fuel pump failing). But after a bit of 1/4 throttle it would be fine and only have an issue if I got on it very hard(bucks from fuel starvation).

    The work done:

    SETA block
885 head with Schrick 288 cam
    M50 rebuilt injectors

Now I have to pump the throttle to get it to start.

Is the M50 injectors and 288 cam causing major fuel starvation? I just drove it up the road, pulled like a beast with 3/4 throttle. Then it bucked a few times(normal, from failing pump).

I know the outboard pump needs to be replaced, just don't know if the added performance upgrades are putting even more strain on it to fire up on just cranking alone.

I went on youtube and found some videos of a b27i with a Schrick 288 idling. Sounds 100% the same as what mine does. Has a lope like a v8 that is cam'd. I am 98% sure it is just the fuel pump is done. Long term I know I need a better fuel delivery system for the turbo plans.

I looked into a Walbro 255, but I am not sure on what I have to do since I have a late model with the outboard. I read the DIY thread, but I learn from pictures and I am not sure what I have to do to convert.

Is there a better setup? I am not against removing the stock fuel tank and going to a Pro-street fuel cell:
    http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS-Performan...37885/10002/-1

Not sure what one to buy, or what else I would need. Any advice is welcome, I am sorry if I upset some with my asking. But I learn purely from pictures.

Yes, the m50 injectors are 17.5lbs, right? Stock are like 14lbs. I think that may be part of your problem.

I thought the stock management could handle the m50 injector upgrade.
Just need someone to chime in that is using m50 injectors.

I was not planning on using a chip management, long term is MS3 to manage my turbo goals.
Right now I don't have the spare funds to afford a chip.

            EDIT(what about these?):

Isn't late model just the in tank and the early is inner/outer?

I could see the ecu getting thrown off by the changes, and making your issue worse. I think the easiest and fastest way is a new fuel pump

o2 sensor should manage the m50 injectors with no issues. Went for a drive and it just pulls till it starts to demand more fuel. Starts bucking like normal till I let off and the pump catches up. Normal driving there is zero issues till I get high in rpms.

The outboard pump is insanely loud, that alone leads me to bank on that the pump is done. I just need to figure out what setup to do. Anyone know of ideas that can daily 400hp?

TRE are junk, I am talking to a few people to work it out.

Now I am thinking about selling my brand new Schrick 288 in favor of a 272. My CR is not high enough for this 288.

Convert to a single pump with a walboro 255 and call it a day.

EDIT: I posted a dumb reply when I knew the answer lol. 255 just replaces the intank pump and reuses the BMW hardware. Had a brain fart.

                            That is the plan.

But I do want to find out more on the Porsche 911 intank and the outboard Walbro.

"e30 single fuel pump conversion" seems to get some good hits on Google, seems to be relatively straight forward, no swapping of tanks or tapping returns into the tank or anything.
