    Four doors for more whores

    1985 325e Sedan.

bought it with 68k rebuild miles on it, super clean. (only reason i bought it, i normally would have held out for a 325i, even a 318.)

The front two wheels had major curb rash cause the PO wedged himself into something... it was weird :confused

SO I got a good deal on some Beyerns that I couldn't refuse.

Then I did a bunch of maintenance like the radiator hoses, valve cover gasket, etc. And cleaned it up a little by tucking the bumpers and removing the fog lights since they didn't work.

Also got a new ZHP shift knob and shift boot, and replaced shifter bushings! Feels like tits!

THEN, I got into an accident. Basically, what happened was some 16 year old girl who couldn't have more than 1 person in the car with her, had 4. In a rental car that she had to be 25 to drive. Stopped short around a turn and I rear ended her. Everything was fine until one of her bitch friends called the cops. :mad Cop gets there and says since it was in a parking lot there's nothing he could do. Nothing with insurance was filed because if she did, she would be screwed for all the people/rental car thing.

But now I had THIS to deal with:

Wasn't TOO bad, I popped it out and repainted it and now you can only tell when you look at certain angles. One result though, was the bumper became untucked. the side that got damaged popped in, the other popped out. So I just pulled it out to make it even, and it's grown on me. Not sure if i'm going to put it back in...

And FINALLY I got around to putting the H&R sports on the car. I bought it with Bilstein shocks, and it feels awesome. I may try and go lower in the rear though

So this happened after I bought my first 885 head, the head was warped pretty bad and I couldn't get the rocker shafts out and broke things in the process. Oh well, i got scrap money for it and i was able to sell parts out of it.

On a brighter note, valve cover and intake are done!

    Wrinkle black with M colors

lacked out grilles and volvo lip (both off now)

E34 e-brake handle and leather boot. Matches the shift boot awesomely.

Later bought a new 885 head, needed a few valves but at least it was straight :)

    New brakes:

    Brembo slotted fronts
    Brembo plain rear
    PBR/Axxis Ultimates
Castrol GT LMA fluid (was all i could find)

    We have lift off:

    Got the rear on first

    Then came the front... mmmmm....

The 17's make the brakes look tiny. 17s are too big...

    Euro filler:

    95 M3 rack:

Well, while my engine is busy spewing coolant and oil out of the head gasket, I picked up some new shoes.

    Hope you like!

excuse the cell phone pic, I will have mounted pics up tomorrow. The tires are not staying, they will be replaced with Azeni's. :)

Did a test fit before I buy new tires.

    What do you guys think?

Look at how they fill up the fender nicely, i might have to roll them!!

:shifty Me thinks i need spacers

What colors do you guys think I should do. Polished lip will be a must. But what centers? Gold, white, silver, black? You can see the wheels were gold/polished at one point...

    Snow in Georgia?

    Roads weren't icy/snowy/wet so no dorifto :(

But i did get crackin on refinishing the wheels! The center caps were scuffed and the PO even painted over half of one of them. So I lightly sanded with 1500 grit sand paper and polished them!

Tomorrow I be stripping them and getting them ready for paint :)

Haven't been doing anything to the wheels lately, only have one wheel barely stripped. Way too lazy.

I did manage to finish the center caps though... nice and shiny :)

Other than that, nothing important has happened... I ordered some tie rods and stuff to finish my steering rack swap, and I have a 370mm mtech 2 wheel on it's way from the UK. got it from ebay.co.uk for about 1/2 as much as they go for in america haha

Started my steering rack swap finally...

Picked up a spare steering knuckle to modify

    obligatory "I cut myself" picture

    New parts came in

    Time to get to work

Began taking my cluster apart... again...

Polishing it up with some Griot's Plastic Polish

So I paid $.05 to 'sponsor' some kid in need. Didn't know they were going to take it so seriously. They sent me the kid:

Oh, whew. It's just my tires :)

They're used, but i got them for a steal. Worst case scenario, I have to buy one or two new ones in the fall.

    oh yeah:

this just came in the mail...

Getting the keys cut and installing it tomorrow, sending out my shocks to be shortened and revalved, getting my front end resprayed... it will be a busy month or two.

    Cone crusher!

Got my cylinder head back from the machine shop, went to the junkyard and got a 21mm vert front sway, spare VC, a bunch of random interior bits, and my cam and center sections came in the mail. Also put yellow film on my high beams..

Painted the sway bar white, it'll be a bitch to clean but I ran out of black paint haha

Also started to make the e to i harness adapter..

installed the vert sway bar.. it feels awesome with no rear bar. I recommend anyone who doesn't want to shell out $200+ per sway to do this.

    Rollin rollin rollin

    et7 in the rear, hollaaaaaa

Freshly rebuilt head! New rockers, valves, guides, seals, 272 cam, etc.

Look at all dem parts. Head bolts, timing belt, water pump, all new sensors, MLS gasket courtesy of John at WOT-Tech (forced firebird)!, and a ton of other random parts.

This could explain why the front of my engine is green...

Making my car $0.05 more valuable.

    JB Weld! Haha

Connected the coolant hoses using a piece of what I think was a curtain rod. Cut it to size and it fit great..

    MLS gasket

eBay headers, not that bad actually. T304 and solid flange. Fitment was okay at best, but over all I'm happy since they're only temporary...

    Filter from the PCV

First start up... lots of vacuum leaks. but it started!

Replaced RSMs, removed the spring pads, and replaced sway bar bushings and links.

One more AX/HPDE on these and I would not have a comfortable ride home

New E46 M3/vert RSM on left, old E30 RSM on right

    Videos!

Idle and revving up to 3k:

Moderate acceleration, not really pushing it. Definitely quicker than an eta though!

    Before:

    After:

Got a 3.73S, my car now gives a nice little chirp when throwing it into 3rd.

Installed this so I can finally tune my car...

    Can't see any wiring :D

That went better than expected! Can't wait to get it tuned

    Okay at idle...

What my glovebox looks like. Tried to clean up the wires as much as possible. The red button is to calibrate the LC-1, the two stereo plugs are for the LC-1 controller, and the USB cable dangling there is from the Ostrich emulator.

Everyone needs to go 'Like' MotorSportMedia on facebook and check out their website for awesome photos and race coverage!

after a little banging with a BFH

Some degreaser to get it cleaned up

Soaked the entire valance in stripper. Didn't do squat on the rock guard part. Smooth paint on the left, textured part on the right.

Smooth paint and some of the textured part gone

How it is now, upper half mostly stripped

Who can guess what these are :p

Almost completely smooth... In all honesty I'm probably not gonna strip all of it down to the metal. Just the visible parts to save on time.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND that's it for now. I'm hoping to have the valance ready for priming and sanding tomorrow.. gonna be painting next week most likely if all goes to plan.

Where did you get those key modules? Are they from BMW or just a random manufacturer? They look awesome, I want.

I will go if you pay for me!! Haha but I probably won't be able to shell out the $400 entry fee before it's filled up.

They were some from random manufacturer in the UK... There are similar kits but this one was the cheapest. Apparently the people I got them from stopped making them, and when I had problems with my kit.. like they sent me the wrong key, it didn't work, etc... they wouldn't even offer to help me.

This is pretty much EXACTLY what I bought, but 3x the price:

In hindsight I would rather pay the $150 since it comes with a warranty and seems a lot better than the one I bought.
