I don't know how I missed that, burnt out from 8 hours of driving. Mapquest said 3 hours, but road work said 4 one way...

But yeah, thanks for the back up. This is one clean ass e30 that needs a little love. I have seen people pay 2k and up for worse e30s than this. Who cares if it needs head work

Looks like a good buy. I wouldn't complain about it.
Sounds like this when running but not as loud. When I tore my brother's 89 b25 motor down it had 4 bent valves and one busted rocker arm. It sounds a performs just like his did.

But I got home late at night and there was no light to pop the cover off and see what was making the racket. All I know is it sounds like bent valves and a broken rocker arm. It is under powered and has no trq to up to speed. I will know 100% what is up tomorrow morning. I am tearing the top end down and sorting out a list of parts I need other than the b27i conversion parts.

Yeah you're right. I paid 800 for my 84 gti with a busted engine. F34R, you did fine. It will turn out awesome if yuo build it. Stoked to see the outcome.

It is getting the b25 head, harness/ecu, intake mani, header etc. To the n00bs that is called the b27i stroker(poor mans stroker etc).

No worries, I am building it...so it will come out awesome!

FYI to others, the suspension is not shot or any of the suspension parts/bushings. You would DROOL over the list of care this car has been given. I spent 1 hour reading the recepts and just melted. It was loved & cared for beyond belief. Now I am going to restore it to what it deserves. That is proper brakes and lowered suspension with fresh paint. Nothing race, just done right and what BMW stands for "ultimate driving experience".

            Update:

So I tore down the head and found more damage than it is worth fixing/b27i swap. I called a few friends to find a complete motor. Lots of b27 or half of b25 etc

Gave my buddy Tom(ttrousdell on here) a call, he had his b25 laying around from the aftermath of his m30 swap. So a deal was struck and I am going to get the motor this coming weekend. 120k or something like that, top end redo and timing and WP replaced. Over all a super well kept motor to transplant!

All it needed is a harness and ECU, got both off David and I am ready to get this done!

So today I am going to get the suspension ordered and gut the POS b27 out of her e30.

All and all I am super happy and a motor swap is SOOO much faster than replacing a ton of seals/gaskets while doing a b25 update on a b27.

I am going to borrow a nice camera and take some new pictures and get this thread moving!

IMO you got it for a good price, i got mine for 750, no body damager just needed paint, came with some "rare" wheels, no major flaws in the interior, just a small tear in the sunroof fabric. and also half the engine was gone, but for less than 600 i got it running with an m50 in it. so you have more than enough to make this look great. good luck to you and you're sister, lead her in the right direction.

                      Parts update:

OEM sachs clutch is bought, UUC complete F&R rotor replacement and rear pad replacement with SS lines and a SS clutch line. I had new pads from my sHELL build after going BBK.

She bought a set of vintage OZ mesh that I am rebuilding with new tires.

All that is on the list is suspension and sport seats.

I retract my fb comment....mine is schwarz. I couldn't tell on my phone if it was black or blue. Nice find though. Love finding <1k e30s.

She has always loved these wheels: OZ mesh 14x6 et35 perfect fit. I used to run these on my coiled 325e back in the day. They are getting 205/50/14 Kumho Ecsta ASX and 10mm spacers. They are in the middle of being hand polished and having the weave windows painted metallic black.

And before everyone says 14" wheels are dumb and you need to go big and wide etc. She wants a nice period correct e30 with some outstanding wheels. And to be honest these look SO much cooler than 15" BBS RS. I own a set in 16x9 and BBS RC 17x8, so she knows what those look like too. These are concaved and have cool arrowhead openings for the lug nuts.

Laptop pics I am sorry =( But those lips have been polished from 320-2k sandpaper. I have to finish up the other three xD But it is worth the hard work let me tell ya!

Yeah, Macbook laptop camera. I was waiting for someone to FREAK out about it being RHD xD

And if those wheels were in 16x8 I would have them on instead of my BBS RS 16x9 splits. The concaved face and 1.5 lips are sexy!
