        thanks man.

Little update, intake manifold is in the way of brake master and booster, planning to ditch the booster in favor of a remote booster setup which i will mount somewhere else, maybe the battery tray or under the passanger side dash. Then just mount the master cylinder to the firewall, will give me the clearance i need to use the stock manifold and give me plenty of room when i build a custom manifold down the road.
        something like this

and some pics to show the lack of clearance

thanks Steven! Youve got a pm coming your way in a second.

Made some progress tonight, goal is to have the motor mounts done by the end of sunday(only full day i get to work on it this week), but tonight i finished one side just needs to be final welded, so tommorow night i might finish the other side, and then i will be ahead of schedual for my day off on sunday, then i can sort out the mastercylinder and maybe extend the driveshaft.

Finished the mounts completly today and bolted the motor in for final test fitting, everything looks spot on.
Need to extend the driveshaft 1 5/8 inches, same with shift linkages. Picked up a driveshaft today, Steven at Vintage European so kindly donated one for the build =]

So the day was going good, i picked up my redrilled flywheel this morning also. all was good until i bolted it on...well the pressure plate is for a dual mass flywheel, fuck my fucking life, thats not going to work, 75 bucks down the drain for redrilling, back to square one, buy volvo single mass pressure plate.
Cut the transmission some more to clear the starter and crank sensor, that all fits now.
I guess it wasnt a terrible day, my goal for the day was to finish the motor mounts which i did, i guess everything else was a bonus, and the clutch issue is just annoying more than anything, wont really set me back at all since i dont need the clutch right now anyways.

and some pics, motor saw daylight for the first time today, took the oportunity to clean up the shop a bit while the car was outside.

and a new decal. For your pnw bmw needs...Vintage European!

had to do a honda motor swap this week so finally got the e30 back in the garage today.

finished the brake pedal and master cylidner, just waiting on the remote booster then i just need to mount it and run lines to finish off the brakes
Got the water pipe almost completly done, just need to extend the back heater hose pipe a little more and make a mounting tab for it.
extended one of the shift linkages, the other is aluminum so ill have to do that at work.
Bought an aluminum radiator today also.

Alternator mounting almost finished, final position and top bracket is made done, just need to weld bosses onto the bottom of the acc bracket to drill and tap for the bottom alternator bolts.

Intake manifold got in the way of the alternator, i could only go down so far because the motor mount arms are right below it, i could have went a bit lower but im happy how it lined up so i just made some clearance on the intake manifold, did away with the coolant/vacuum banjo, just using a hose for the coolant and a seperate vacuum line for the pcv .

If i can manage to get the car driving by ipd, this will be the all the exhaust it will have, should sound like hell
Ended up preheating the manifold with oxy/acet and migging the adapter to it, couldnt fit bolts, no way at all.
Also shows the almost finished water pipe, added heater pipe towards the back and deleted the inlet for the coolant res.

                      Downpipe is tight

                      Started on the harness.
1/2" thick alumnium oil pan flange is being laser cut, anyone else want one? stock flange is just a pain in the ass.
once the pan is done i will make some major progress and it should be done very shortly after.

While I do not agree with the engine being swapped into the car, I am eating up the fab and the creativity.

vems harness is done in the bay, need to pin the connector and wire in relays, ground and ign power.Once it runs ill rip it out and run it through the pet braiding

The sump now sits about a 1/4" above the subframe and everything else clears, waiting on some more aluminum to finish building the rest of it. slow progress but progress none the less. working on other little tid bits that i dont care to document.

Wow how have I never seen this before when I spend basically 24/7 lurking on here.
I've never seen a volvo engine in an e30 this is pretty cool that you're doing something that's never been done.
