too much for too little gain, M52's aint that much better than M50's anyway.
$600 for an M52
$500 for OBD1 conversion
$350 for S52 cams
$250 for software
$1700 for like 210HP and 190TQ... that's not ballin on a budget.
M50 and S50 cams is the route now.. which will leave me money for a tarbo. (but that's another build thread ;) )

Might have to skip out on the M52...going OBD1 is going to be costly as hell it seems....Leave a comment:

a lot of people in GRM don't really spend only $201x. There are loopholes around the limit so you have more to spend. How else would guys have crazy built cars with AST suspensions for just $2011?Leave a comment:

mainstream for a reason ;) I'm never going back to 12 valves lolol
Sweet, thanks!

If it hasn't already been mentioned, check out some GRM e30 build threads for inspiration on how to stretch that budget. I know Vorshlag's thread is kicking around somewhere.Leave a comment:

Ordered all my suspension goodies, got a free Getrag 240, free new sachs clutch, ordered my tires, brake goodies, cooling goodies (IE 14" electric fan)
Got all my 24V parts together, just missing motor mounts.
With all that I still have $1900 left over for a 24V swap..which I will do for much less than $1000
Found an M52 junkyard motor that's been sitting for a year, unsure if it runs, for $600. seems promising enough.
All I'm missing is the motor now, everything should come in within a week, and then it will all get built in a week ;)Leave a comment:
