I have to agree. Not to say they won't do the job, but seriously, it isn't much more work to make them look good as well as. And frankly, your welds are sub par. If they weren't overkill as far as the size of the bead you put down, I'd worry about strength.
Making them out of 3/16" and MIG welding them would make them look a lot better and not so hacked. After all, you could probably use 1/8" plate and end up ripping the rubber mounts long before you bent/broke the metal arms.
Props for putting them together though. Most guys would love to be able to do this kind of thing.Comment

I agree they are not the most beautiful mounts especially since they haven't been cleaned up and painted but I have no doubt of their structural integrity. I like the criticism and I welcome advice on how to make them better. This was my first time making them and I want to try to make them better each time. Ill try and post pics of the finished product in 2 weeks when I get back from school.Comment
