2) i see your euro grills look like mine did when i got them with a large portion of the area between the slats blocked off by plastic. I trimmed all that out on mine, it seems like doing the same to yours would give you a lot more airflow for the intercooler and radiator and generally be an easy improvement.
Survived the bimmerfest trip.
made it down and almost back lol
actually managed 25mpg for the first part of the trip, only went through 7.4 gallons for the first stop.
made it down in 6hrs
trip back was going good, was averaging like 85-90mph
I pulled off because I got low on coolant, (sat in LA traffic jam for like an hour, with heat blasting, and it was like 100 degrees outside). after adding a bit of coolant I got on the gas to get on the freeway and heard a huge bang
I'm guessing like 4 bolts worked loose and then when I accelerated the few that were still fully threaded just snapped.
Axle took out the diff cover and I lost a lot of fluid, but got some jb weld and rearranged some bolts and was back on the road.
Did you remove the splitter stabilizers at the show or is it some photo trickery?
I removed them for the show, kept it looking cleaner. used them for the road trip because I was afraid of it falling off from hitting debris or huge bumps and what not
