all you do is back the bleed screw off and pour it coolant
until you see it coming out the hole, then you tighten the screw.

Fill her up. Run it then see if it needs anymore when it's cooled.

Mine would only bleed completely if I elevated the coolant resevoir. Helped to get all the bubbles out of the rear hoses

LowR3V'in, the bleeding is a little more of a pain than that. And depending on the routing of the hoses it can be easier or harder. I ended up using every trick (elevating the front, opening the unused sending unit bung, bleeder valve, elevated coolant tank, and even cracked open the temp sending unit bung on the top of the radiator) and it still took awhile to make it happen. M20s, M42s, and 24v cars are super simple in comparison.

Ya, bleeding the m30 is a PITA

So the coolant res. tank definitely sits a bit lower than the bleeder screw on the M30. I unhooked and raised the tank a good 3-4 inches and started squeezing hoses and had a ton of large air bubble come out so I have hope it will run a bit cooler this time around.

I would invest in one of the vacuum coolant filler things. Bleeds it perfect every time and checks for leaks too. M30 E30 cooling system is a bitch.

so no pics or videos:( but... its really fast, was at 14psi for some reason. runs strong and smooth, boost by 3k even at like 3/4throttle in 2nd gear, so I could of gone bigger on the turbo.

2nd gear does not get traction at all.
and...................of course it still runs hot, I'm not getting any air bubbles out, its running a good 10degrees cooler than before but thats still like 200degrees while cruising at no load and obviously hotter when boosting.

Are you using your previous meth injection ? How did you like that on m20?

I would suggest lifting the front of the car as high as you can (I had my bumper at chest height) and burp the system multiple times. I even cranked the engine periodically to cycle the fluid and air in the system.

I know you probably covered this but what diff gears are you running?

I had the 3.73 with my m20 but switched to the 2.93 for the current setup. 1st is usable for uphill starts and parking lot driving but useless with throttle. Every other gear is a blast

Holy shit, that's on the shorter end even for an n/a m30. You'll probably have more usable power with a 2.93.

FWIW our NA M30 runs at 180 with an e28 radiator, and around 200 with a e36 one. It's possible that the e28 unit just has more cooling capacity.

                                Is the e36 a 3-core?
