What do you like/dislike compared to the GT35r type.....on my E36 M3, I was very disappointed in the TD06 20g with the AA kit....went to a GT35r and realized that this is why I went turbo in the first place! Their 20g couldn't maintain boost over 14 psi and just seemed like a weaker turbo all around. The only good thing was that the power was very linear and controllable....basically, boring.

      3.2l vs. 2.5l lol
      A gt35 is a dog until like 5000rpm on an m20.

Nothing a 3.91 or 4.10 couldn't help....and you still have 2k of fun to play with

Nah, It sucks. My best friend had a ball bearing gt35 on his vanos m50 and the driveabilty was LAME. It was so on/off. Stop light to stop light was annoying lol.

a gt35 and M20 motor makes LESS than 170whp in first and only 250hp in second gear and then third gets that magically 400hp for like less than 1 second.

The 20g can hold over 20psi ALL the way to redline, trust me I did it by accident and also that was in 2nd gear.

shorter gearing means a gt35 doesn't even hit full boost until 4th gear
with a 3.15 the gt35 hit 10 by end of first and wastegate pressure by 5k in 3rd.

with this new 20g I can hit target boost in every gear... its truly amazing. I can get 1 psi in neutral just revving now lol

a gt35 on an m20 barely makes 8-10psi by 7krpm in first gear. I now get 10psi by 4.5k in first gear. I literately doubled the HP I had in 2nd gear and it makes the car sooo much quicker overall.
I now have a good 4krpms of usable power band and 3k of which are at Full boost with the wastegate screaming.

you can see in the virtual dyno there is no dieing off and I made peak power at 7k. Its running much more efficient as well, coolant temps stay cooler and so does MAT.

I'll grab a video for you guys this weekend. It sounds like some weird video game race car with all the new turbo noises.

How do you think this turbo would perform on the 2.5 m50? sounds like it could be a little more track friendly rather then getting crazy boost surges at the upper rpm range.

I think it would do well, but not sure how much better the M50 spools turbos. I would assume it would feel like a smaller turbo on an M50 and probably spool noticeably quicker, which may not be what you would want.

soo I've been driving more, I can get full boost of 18psi while brake boosting lol. makes for some interesting launches, I need some better tires now.

Also tried out some archaic throttle kicked bang bang antilag, sounds like a machine gun but I got rid of it since its not needed.

Really considering this turbo for my 2.7i build. Good work! Doing the research so none of us have to!

I hate to ask because I'm sure you posted but, what Manifold/Adapter are you running?

I went to the old style ebay manifold. Once modified(cut flange in 2) it fit decent, I gasket matched the ports and welded up the wastegate tube and now its a pretty sweet manifold that cost less than $150.

Sadly they don't make a 10cm one with internal waste gate. So it's either go with an 8mm or go with a garrett gt3076r

the 8cm housing is the housing of choice for people with subaru's, many run that housing on the 2.5l STI. It probably works just fine, and nobody runs one on a E30 so I have no clue whether it dies out up top or not. I would think since they work well on an sti it would probably work well on an E30.

The kinugawas are nice because they include so much for less than $700.

                                Yep.

Eh maybe I'll just stick with my holset for now and just wait till I have the parts and funds to twin charge.
