    Winter Project lists - 2011/12

Ok, let's have 'em! And spare no dirty details. Those of you that are fortunate enough to stow God's Chariot away for the winter (and even those that aren't!), what are your plans? Tearing it down to the chassis? Finally replacing those blistering brake lines? Suspension overhaul? Let's hear it!

    - Pulling my M50 back out to replace the rear main seal and weld the oil pump nut (both of which I either totally spaced/didn't know about)
    - Also pulling the whole exhaust system out and the headers, having the headers ceramic coated and custom-building a new exhaust system with a friend
    - Pulling sheet metal front valance and have it powdercoated gloss black
    - Pulling apart/rebuilding brake calipers and having them powdercoated the same wrinkle red as my valve cover

... And if I have the money, have my new set of Recaro Trophys reupholsted.

If all goes well, I really won't be spending too much money on my projects this year, I already have a lot of what I need.

Put m50 back together, install, get new wheels, iS lip, detail entire car, and freshen up interior and suspension.

I've got a long list for my '89 325i four door:
Replace all suspension bushings and lower it with the Vogtlands I have, just need to get some Bilstein sports.
Rebuild one of the four steering racks I have for it.
Pull m20 to rebuild head and lower end - 2.7i conversion?
Remove current "high-performance" clutch and replace with a stock one.
Remove notchy short shifter and install the UUC kit I've bought.
                              New seals in tranny.
Replace the seals in my S3.73 and swap out the stock open diff.
Gut the interior and replace ripped/stained tan carpet with OEM charcoal/black. Replace other misc. trim as needed.
                              Brake maintainence as needed.
Body work (though fortunately it hardly needs any) as much as resources allow.
Get BBS RZ's looking new with tires mounted ready for dry roads. :)

For my '86 325es, the winter beater:
                              Oil change.
                              New thermostat.
                              Finish plastic bumper swap
                              My Feedback
