I quickly glanced through the thread, but Im curious why you used the 2002 M10 block and not a E30 block? Im pretty sure the E30 is lighter, though theres claims they arent as strong either. That couldve helped a little to shave weight off the front. Im also guessing the batery will be in the back? That would help the balance out

Less than 1000 kg with fluids and me at the wheel. Will probably not be achieved right now.
More than 150 hp at the flywheel. If the engine works, I should be able to exceed it clearly. All the parts for it are there.

By my estimates the car will also remain a bit nose heavy. That too, can be changed, given time. Right now I'm just concentrating on getting it on the road for a change, with any setup.

No, I've got these, from a Miata:

14X6", center hole machined to E30 size. 4,7kg per corner. I'm curious to see it too, though I'm not in this for the looks. :)

If I bolt on a part per day... How many parts are there to an E30?

    Thank you.

You know the color divides opinion. Divides as in I like, and the rest of the world doesn't :D. There are still enough brilliantrots, cirrusblaus and alpineweiß E30s in the world. Looking at it I haven't had a "Oh god what 've I done" moment so I guess it's OK.

Different lighting, different camera. Really changes how the shade looks. One of those color you'd have to see in person I guess.

I like it. It's exactly the kind of shade or variation of the color I want. So far only engine bay/interiors were painted, they waited for me to take a look at it and confirm the shade is OK to proceed. While it's not a matte surface, it's only "half shiny" or whatever is the correct term in english. Anyhow, half shiny is just the way I want it.

Bit of a problem with the pistons, or rather the machining work.. They're not symmetrical so that each would be 0,9mm over the deck. Should be repairable, needs yet another trip to the machinist :/

Finally got around to disassembling everything and took the parts to the machinist. The crack in the filter mounting point was only 3mm deep so shouldn't be a problem.

I browsed the internet for tyres.. Fact is, the selection of 14" tyres is not great, normal OR semi slicks. But, I'm not ditching the current 14"s till I can afford to buy a set of 15"s that aren't any heavier. On a road driven E30, I've found that 14 is a nice size, especially with stiff suspension. It has so much tire wall that the tyre compliance soaks up and dampens a lot of the forces.
