Good luck with your adventure! And hope you dont find this when you deside to open it up!!!
That was my Firehawk when i bought it! I still have the block since its the original matching#'s to the car. But pretty obvious it needs some machine work if i'm ever to use it again.
Funny thing... We just picked up a 95 Z28 that looked like that on the inside.

Anyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.
We pulled the heads.... cylinders were fine. Just a little sludge. Heads were good too. Speaking on behalf of Stuart.... I think he'll have a picture later.... This is a very annoying mystery.

Better check the bearings in the bottom end.
This is an honest question as well, are you attempting to turn it over by the starter or by the crank bolt?

Crank bolt.... got on it enough to tighten it even more... just isnt budging... I personally think the motor is fine since it turned out of the car. I think its the clutch or flywheel.... Who knows though. We are tired of going on a wild goose chase and are pulling the motor this weekend.
Yep. Pulling it saturday, I'll investigate more thoroughly once its out, and I have the car up and running. Rings are good, pistons are good, head gasket looks brand new(said it was rebuilt before it was crashed, and I believe him). So its gotta be bottom end stuff, and I'm not in the situation to do an engine rebuild at this point in time. Heres a pic of the block with the heads off,
