I can't wait to drive an s52 e30 again. This prius my sister loaned me is killing me, but I love the efficiency.

How do people mount the 325i expansion tank in a 318is bay usually?

In the alpine car I welded the bracket on from the 325i, so I may do that again and just spray the welds with some spray paint. It's not visible.

I used the plastic clip piece, without the metal bracket, worked fine. Moved it to the battery tray since it fits better there

Bye bye beast. You will be missed, but Brilliantrot has me feeling some type of way.

So I had to grab a lot of parts from the beast, including its front subframe. So pulled the m42 and its front subframe and stock suspension to swap with the beast. Here are some pics of that

          Pressure washed the BAE

          Subframe and suspension dropped

Dropped the steering column to put in the pedal box from the beast that was welded when it broke a little while back. I figure it is much stronger and it will prevent the same breakage from happening to the stock pedal box.

I've done more since then, but need to take pics still. I am awaiting some important parts, too.

Pumped to get my coilovers on, but I don't have the correct strut not from vorshlag. So hopefully I can get that sorted out.

Success. Rebar vs an extension helped. Also helped to have my dad beat it while I heated it with torch.

Just some adventures of the day

                Burned out the subframe bushings

Painted the brake line holders brackets or whatever just to tidy things up. I also painted the custom coupler nut for my swaybar should I made from e36 m3 endlinks

Test fit the struts with the e36 m3 swaybar tabs welded on and the end links I made. Seems like it will work great. I'll know more when it's on the ground.

Thanks! Yeah I'm super excited to finally habe proper suspension.

I have 700# in the rear and 550# up front. I'm not going to run a rear bar and see how it feels.

Forgot to post this earlier. Front subframe is back in with new redesigned Condor mounts. They are much nicer

Drilled the holes for the brake booster relocation and notched the firewall for the steering column.

Removed RTABs. This is definitely better than burning them out

Installed delrin brake pedal bushings and bronze clutch pedal bushings

Installed new front wheel hubs with new dust covers and new nuts

                      Also got wheel studs on

Got the proper strut nuts from vorshlag

                      Rebuilt the half shafts

Got new parking brake cables installed

Installed a differential stud kit from garagistic

Excellent work swapping to a new chassis, though it sucks to hear about your old one.

I rocked a 91 318is with an S52. Was a blast. Hope you get to enjoy yours soon.

Thank you, yeah I'll miss the white one since I invested so much time into it. When it comes down to it, an e30 is an e30 and this new one is overall nicer.

I can't wait to get it on the road!

Oh and here is an update from the new owner of the original beast.
He still hasn't welded in new radiator support but it's coming along
