This is a great thread, just read through the whole thing instead of going in to work lol.
Nice job on the car so far, I love how much you are cleaning and painting. I hope to do a similar build with my convertible eventually

Looks good man. I installed my rears on the car, helped with making sure I had the correct clearance from the bag to the axle under load. Might be possibly something to think about.

You made your holes in the tables about 1/2 inch forward?

Looking great! I'm curious to see if you tuck your hood cable. That's the only thing we couldn't figure out how to get into the fender without modifying it, risking failure.

Thats something I had not thought of for my own build, and the expansion tank tubing is another!

I'm liking the work in this thread, no cutting corners from what I could see! Lots of painting of parts as well

I'm interested to know how your planning on doing the wiring, I think I have it all figured out for my own build but could use some more idea's.

On the right side of the fuse box, you'll notice a little hole. Maybe about 5/8 inch. I'm gonna take that hole, increase the diameter and either pass inside the fender tunnel.

Your bay looks amazing. Im leaving the openings around the shock tower open. I wont be putting sealer around them. Its gonna be some thing different. For the hood cable, I'll have to figure that out. I have an idea but I cant share it right now

                        Monday, November 12, 2012 --

The weekend is when the magic happens at the shop. Body work gets done! The bay was smoothed down and sealed Friday. Saturday plastic was spread and Sunday sanding began. These pics are from this morning. One side is almost done.

Last year I purchased a front bumper from a member here. Thankfully it came from somewhere that never saw snow, so it was clean without rust. Gave it a fast cleaning, scotch bright and paint. The usual routine.

Can someone please help and tell me what this box is for? There are only two wires coming from the fuse box into it. I was thinking maybe it was a SRS diagnostic plug.

Where are you mounting your coolant reservoir?

And I've been wondering about that square plug as well. I'm thinking its some kind of diagnostic port, possibly SRS. I can tell you its not needed for the car to run, but it might be needed for other things. I want to cut it off if its not important

Im using a 318is rad with low temp thermostat.
If that plug isn't needed I'm chopping the shit straight off.

I thought thats what you might be doing. I wanted better cooling so I went with the e36 radiator and the 318is rad. has plastic on it, which is shit.

IIRC that box is the auxiliary fuse box. i have the same thing in my 318is.
