i was going to pull the motor out of the one at the junkyard to get the flywheel, and to learn the tricks with pulling this motor out so its not as hard when i pull mine out, but that hasnt happened yet,
im now a week away from starting, and are still waiting on the dump pipe to arrive, but my 8:1 FMU arrived from USA so im almost there parts wise, needed modification for the 8:1 calibration disc

long time no post...
well,
due to a 3 month wait on the dump pipe that was supposedly 'sent' and 'lost' in the post, i finally recieved it, but by that time i had already purchased an m30....

so to update, the m30 is currently in, has been run, and is being pulled back out to fix some issues.

just read through the m30 swap thats sick! What a beast ! Where did you find the parts for the swap; engine, gearbox, ecu etc.....And good luck with m40 turbo

m40 turbo isn't going ahead now that the m30 is in, but in saying that i still have the manifold and dump pipe sitting here doing absolutely nothing, so who knows...

egnine, ecu (EAT powerchipped) and 5sp getrag 260/6 were all bought from a guy in the SA BMW club who swapped an s38 into his 535i, i was lucky to get such a good deal with that lot, which is one reason for doing that over turbo! however i'm still contemplating the idea of boosting the m30 slightly in a years time once everything is sorted ;)

lucky as!! I thinking turboing the m30 is the best thing to do next haha
